Dior Addict Extreme, Diorific, Serum de Rouge lipstick swatches, review, photos

I hit the Dior counter last month and picked up two new lippies: Avenue or shade 667 in Dior Addict Extreme and Coral Hip-Hop or shade 024 in Diorific. The first thing that struck me about them was the packaging and the cases. W.O.W.

Swatches, review and details and more photographs of the Dior lipsticks are below.

Doesn't Diorific (above) look like the cutest and girliest dumbbell? Despite the full gold-coloured covering, it doesn't look tawdry. I bought this in "Coral Hip-Hop" or #024. Ingredients-wise, I couldn't find parabens listed. It contains castor seed oil and claims to be "long-wearing true colour lipstick". It didn't last all that long, actually - maybe through a glass of water, but that was it. It goes on smoothly and leaves traces of pigmentation after lunch.

Dior Addict Extreme (pictured above) is supposed to be a longer-lasting version of Dior Addict. The case is very similar to Addict - translucent "Dior blue" with the steel lippy holder. It is satiny, though it needs a rub or two more than Diorific to glide on. I bought #667 or Avenue. I feel this has more or less the same staying power as the Diorific lipstick. I use this and Diorific for one post-lunch touch-up over my longer-lasting stains that are similar in colour.

Avenue is a warm, glossy pink that looks fresh and subtle on my lips. It is not too pigmented and is a bit sheer, but it is a great everyday colour - perfect for when you want a hint of colour. I was looking for something similar to Chanel Rouge Double Intensite's Rose Garnet, and this was the closest.
Coral Hip-Hop is a pretty coral with a slight shimmer of gold. It is subtle enough to wear to work and doesn't scream. It should suit all skin tones very well and is more pigmented than Avenue. I love both the colours and the cases and wish they would last a little longer on the lips.
I bought Serum de Rouge (below) about a year ago, when I was feeling quite low. I love the casing. How do those people at Dior imagine them up?

Again, can't find parabens though this contains sunflower seed oil. Its tagline is "Luminous Color Lip Treatment" and claims to contain SPF20. So why is it a serum?

According to the little paper inside, it contains 10 times more lip care ingredients than the other Dior lippies, helps prevent ageing and helps firm and moisturise lips.
That was all very well, I loved the case, the colour - #760 Raspberry Serum - and the concept. However, this lipstick has nil staying power. At the risk of sounding cliched, now you see it, now you don't - I definitely didn't even attempt a meal or a glass of water. The colour seemed to just melt away - scroll down to read what happened.

Here is the swatch of Serum de Rouge's Raspberry Serum. It is a deep magenta-ish and reddish pink. It is a lot more pigmented and is more of a night colour than a work or everyday colour, though that could be because I'm way too used to the Rose Garnet types. It is very shiny and feels nice on the lips.
However, as I said before, it vanishes before you know it. I applied it and smacked my lips once, after a few minutes. To my horror, I found the colour seemed to have relocated to the outline of the lips, near the lipliner. I smacked my lips once more and almost all the colour had gone to the edges and you could see the bare lips. The second time I wore this, I found it had smudged within about 20 minutes and gone everywhere except for the lips - this was despite blotting and liner. I haven't worn it since. Come on, Dior, I paid INR2,150 for this and expect it to last through at least a breath or two!
On the bright side, the SA gave me a cute Dior Addict sample lip palette that looks fabulous. I'll review it soon.
