Manicure: O.P.I. You Don't Know Jacques nail polish and LA Colors Goddess

O.P.I. You Don't Know Jacques nail polish swatch and review
It has been a while since I wore a taupe shade, and I love taupes. So this time it was O.P.I.'s You Don't Know Jacques. It is a lovely creme taupe. A mushroom-grey-brown mix, if you like. You'll have a hard time describing the shade. It even looks like it has a drop of purple in the photo with flash.

I applied two coats and achieved full opacity and plenty of shine. I can't think of a dupe for this colour - if you know of one, do let me know!
I applied polish to my right hand this time, as I'm airing my yellow-to-the-point-of-brown left fingernails. My left hand is wobbly at the steadiest of times.
LA Colors Goddess polish Swatch and review
My Konad stamper has gone missing and is yet to be found, so I thought I would apply some glittery top coat. I found LA Colors "Goddess", which is not close to You Don't Know Jacques, but I was in the mood to marry them off anyway.
Goddess is a gold base with plenty of glitter in varying size, mostly round. I have read reviews that say Goddess has hexagonal glitter, which made me buy it - but I can only find round glitter. Maybe it's all at the bottom! The base is just about sheer enough for layering, but you don't get enough of the large holographic glitter unless you dig around with the brush and apply the glitter, flake by flake, to your nails. Patience! Even then, the glitter doesn't spread evenly.
Finally, and I take no responsibility if this will gross you out or otherwise injure you or your appetite, here is a picture of my yellow-to-the-point-of-brown, peeling and broken fingernails of the left hand. Yes, it does take some courage to show them to the world :( They are currently receiving liberal doses of cuticle oil and frequently being brushed with toothpaste and lemon juice. They will be allowed to breathe until Saturday, and be covered by polish again. My fingernails are the first martyrs to my fashion aspirations.
