International beauty box: My September 2013 Glamabox is a work of art

When I saw spoilers of the September 2013 Glamabox, I was more excited about the box itself than the contents! The box is designed by French artist Agnes Boulloche and is Alice-in-Wonderland themed. Isn't it gorgeous? It is just a little larger than the Glossybox and is equally sturdy and strong enough for heavy-duty storage and rough handling. This one is a collectible!
Glamabox is based in Hong Kong, and is well known in Singapore and Taiwan. Each item is handpicked by founder and international fashion model Lisa Selesner, who tries them first. The box costs HKD118 a month (That's Hong Kong Dollars. Google for exchange rates).  Postage varies, depending on your exact city/location, registered, EMS or speed post options - you need to ask by emailing them here. Please do mention that you heard about this from or were sent by Renu of My Beauty Junction!
As usual, there was a product card/letter.

The contents of the September 2013 Glamabox:

  1. La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo samples x 2
  2. La Roche Posay Effaclar Cleansing Gel
  3. Burt's Bees Lip Gloss
  4. Jorubi Aloe Vera Gel sample
  5. Monaco Argan Oil deluxe size
  6. Estetica Sunshield SPF 50 sample
  7. Jane Clare Blueberry Revital Firming Mask

8. Jane Clare HydroSpark Hydrating Serum sachets x 3
I'm most excited about the La Roche Posay Effaclar products. I've been hearing about them forever but hadn't got around to trying them. I'm glad they included two of the Duo samples. No parabens. I'll get started on these soon.
Since I don't like or use lip gloss, the sealed Burt's Bees gloss goes unopened into my next swap-box.
The Estetica Sunshield sample is a tiny tube - perhaps one use for the face or neck.
The Jorubi Aloe Vera Gel was unexpected; I had seen Santaverde Aloe gels in other boxes. There's an eyedropper-sized sample and I'm popping it into my travel bag for burns or bug bites.
There's also a sheet mask, which I'll try out, and three foil sachets from Jane Clare. I might pass them on to Mum, or painstakingly empty them into a pot, since there are three of the same thing.
I'm interested in the Monaco Argan Oil - this is a 10ml bottle. I've started using Moroccanoil after showers on the tips of my hair and it would be nice to compare this.
Overall, I prefer the outside of this box and the inside of the last month's! The No7 Protect and Perfect Beauty Serum last time was a knockout (see here) and this one is a tad hastily put-together and sachet/tiny-sample-heavy, and I can't use a couple of things inside. But the sheer artwork on this month's box... here, take another dekko at that!
Now the bad - not only was the external packaging unlike last time, when they had used an external box which was equally strong, but the brown paper was also open on one side and I was charged INR210 by customs after they wrote "Cream - $300" on the customs declaration. I'm glad they sent it by registered post.
You can't order outside of Hong Kong through the website, I believe, though you can accumulate Glama Points and redeem them later. Payment is via Paypal. I hope they release a Hobbit/LOTR-themed box this December :D
