I received the Burberry Lip Mist Natural Sheer Lipstick sampler palette when I hauled a tonne of makeup through OrderMakeup UK (see here). I love lip samplers; you can swatch them at home and use the shades a few times before you decide whether to buy or not. I had a Dior Addict sampler palette which lasted more than a dozen uses each (swatched and reviewed here).
This Burberry Lip Mist palette comes with four shades, which I have swatched for you below - Copper, Rosy Red, Feather Pink and Blueberry.
There is a cute lip brush in the palette, which is going into my travel bag, as it works very well and saves space. I have swatched these shades with the Vintage Cosmetic Company's Retractable Lip Brush. Please click on the pictures to enlarge them.

So. The four shades in the Burberry Lip Mist palette. Copper is a shimmery beige-neutral; the closest to a my-lips-but-better (MLBB) shade. Feather Pink is the kind of pink I wouldn't go for, a tad too pale for my liking. Rosy Red is a bright red with pinkish hues somewhere - again, not my kind of thing, and I would run for miles from the vampy Blueberry.

All the shades have a pleasant fragrance.

Now for the Burberry Lip Mist swatches:

I have photos in natural light and with flash. First up: natural light. From left: Copper, Blueberry, Feather Pink and Rosy Red.

The texture of Burberry Lip Mist lipsticks:

These are sheer. Very sheer. The name itself is "Natural Sheer Lipstick". And Lip Mist. So if you are looking for full coverage or have any kind of lip pigmentation that you want to hide, avoid these. But if you can pull off tints and sheers and love creamy and very moisturising textures, you will love the Lip Mists. It actually feels like you've applied lip balm to your lips.

I don't know if it was because I used a lip brush instead of applying the colour directly from the bullet, but the texture was clumpy. You can see what I'm talking about from the swatch below, taken with flash. Have a look at "Blueberry", second from left, especially. Watery tint with solid clumps. The clumps do blend with considerable efforts with the brush.
I did also notice that the Lip Mists bled considerably on the lips and the darker shades especially did settle into fine lines. All swatches are on bare skin, by the way. You can see that Feather Pink looks a tad bubblegummy.

Staying power of Burberry Lip Mist lipsticks:

Here's a picture for you. 'Nuff said.

So those were blotted with a tissue, once, lightly. And no, there was no stain left behind. Zilch staying power. So regular touch-ups would be needed.

Here are the Lip Mist lippies swatched on the lips:

This is Copper. MLBB, as I said. This is my favourite shade in this palette.

Feather Pink is below. A shade paler than my usual, beloved dusty rose.

Rosy Red is below. Not my shade, I never wear them this red, although I like how it looks on my lips.

Blueberry is way too vampy and gothic for me. I usually avoid this sort of shade like the plague.

I have this much left in the palette after forearm swatches and lip swatches of each colour. Enough for another use each, at least. Next time, I'm going to try mixing the shades up. Feather Pink and Blueberry, for starters.

Before we close, here's a shot of my favourite Burberry ballerinas, while we are on the subject :) Not quite court shoes, but they are the most comfy pair I own.

Oh, and any of these lippies would go along nicely with this woollen knee-length dress I picked up from Burberry in September but haven't brought myself to wearing it yet! Formal enough to wear to work. And although it looks huge, it's only a size 8 and fits me perfectly. Check out the lovely brass buttons!

Disclaimer: While the palette was a sample with purchase, the shoes and dress are entirely paid for with my own money. No PR samples on this blog yet :)
  1. Love the Burberry tartan plaid dress. Among the lip swatches, Copper is my fave followed by Rosy Red. I haven't got a single burberry lippie in my kitty :(

    1. Thank you; I need to make myself wear it! Try the Burberry Lip Cover Lipsticks - they are a lot more pigmented and stay on for longer. The Lip Mists are a bit sheer and not long-staying.
