Lip Factory Box all-lips November review, unboxing, photos: International beauty box

Lip Factory November 2013 all-lips beauty box review, unboxing, photos
Lip Factory November 2013 all-lips beauty box review, unboxing, photosThe November 2013 box is exactly why Lip Factory is my international beauty box. Every four months, they do an all-lips box. They do NOT carry drugstore brands. They send six full-size exclusive makeup products every month. No samples. No sachets. What's not to like?
Lip Factory is a US-based beauty box but they ship worldwide. To subscribe, hit their website hereDo mention my reference number 384919 and we'll both get 50 points apiece (used to redeem for products or boxes).

Medusa Makeup Lipsticks in Baroque and Skid Row

What packaging! I fell in love with it on the spot. Inside the black external card cases, which are decorated with keys, swords and spiders that give a vintage yet edgy feel is a heavy black case that reminds me of a the "queen" in an old ebony-and-sandal chess set I have.

Did you see the rose on top of the lid? Overall, the lipstick feels very luxe and it would be great to pull it out of the bag to touch up and make people stare :D Not too blingy either, which I love. You've got to give it to Lip Factory for pulling out this brand! And the lipstick stays on through lunch, leaving behind a pretty stain.
Now for the shades.

No, stop! That's not a virulent violet to the right. It comes out as a dusty shimmery fuchsia on my lips. Not too dark. Nor is Baroque that deep. My photography skills are bad, especially because I did the unboxing indoors. Unfortunately, as soon as I opened Skid Row, this happened:

It fell out as soon as I opened the lid, and Humpty can't be used or swatched without quivering and moving from side to side - and it's squished even worse when I swatched it. I can't stand it when this happens - so much for my dreams of pulling it out in front of envious eyes. I have emailed Lip Factory about this :( Skid Row has certainly skidded!
I have swatches for you at the end of this post.

Model Co Lip Couture Lipstick in Luella

Another solid item in this box. Sturdy, clean packaging. No parabens, as you can see.

A beautiful white case with an built-in mirror. Very nice. It would look great on a marble vanity or counter. Luella is a tad too dark for me, so I've handed this over to my Mum. This is a very creamy lipstick - staying power is a tad less than the Medusa Makeup lipsticks.

Palladio Herbal Lipstick in Chianti

We have seen Palladio before in Lip Factory - a blush from the October box (see here). I like the brand. Again, no parabens.Very good pigmentation and staying power. But Chianti is way too dark a shade for me - it is scary-gothic, even! I've swatched it below and will decide its future after I come back from my vacation.

Retractable Lip Brush

I can't find a brand on the metal case so I'm presuming it is Lip Factory's own brand - they sometimes send out their own items.
So I opened this brush and this happened.

I was so gutted to see this - the only other lip brush I own was the Vintage Cosmetic Company Retractable Lip Brush and I've hated everything else I've tried so I did want a lip brush that worked, blah blah and...
SURPRISE! Hahahaha gotcha! You push the cap at the bottom for the brush to come up.

Designer Skin Lip Shimmer

Feels like a gloss. Doesn't show up one bit and I hate the glossy look and feel on my lips. Deemed Dumpworthy. That sounds like a character in Charles Dickens.

And here are the swatches of the Lip Factory all-lips box lipsticks:

From left, in natural light: Palladio Chianti, Model Co Luella, Medusa Makeup Baroque and Medusa Makeup Skid Row. All one swipe each. The shimmer in Skid Row means the picture hasn't brought out the colour very well.
Will I resubscribe? Of course! I can't wait for the Christmas box from Lip Factory!
