EOTD: Purple smoky eye makeup with Sleek Vintage Romance palette

Purple smoky eye EOTD look with Sleek Vintage Romance palette
After my first smoky eye look (here), I've been trying to push myself further out of my comfort zone. Here is a purple smoke eye look I've done with the Sleek iDivine Vintage Romance Eyeshadow Palette (swatched and reviewed here).

I've used Honeymoon in Hollywood for the crease. This is a lovely wine-deep berry with a hint of shimmer. I then applied Marry in Monte Carlo on the lid - a shimmery mauve-ish berry shade. So far, so good. Then I decided to apply Meet in Madrid, a glittery gold shadow, on the inner corner. This didn't go in too well and ended up sticking out by a mile, so I blended it inwards, which led to the effect that you can see here, with over-done inner-corners. I finished the look with Sephora Long-Lasting liquid eyeliner in #14 or Fancy Violet.

The primer is Too Faced Shadow Insurance and I used Manic Panic Mascara in Creatures Of The Night.
I went shopping for Christmas prezzies for my nephew today evening and decided that I would do this bolder look. After taking these photographs - all in natural, (about) 5 p.m. light - I spent some time in the car frantically dabbing at my eyes with a tissue and compact powder until you could barely see the purple. More courage required.
