Soap and Glory skin care haul from Boots ME and quick thoughts

Soap and Glory skin care haul from Boots Middle East
I was delighted to find Boots outlets in the Persian Gulf and even more chuffed to find they carried Soap & Glory. It was a great opportunity to stock up on essentials. Unfortunately, I find that Soap & Glory is phasing out that superb pink packaging in favour of a more serious-looking white. Whyyyyy? The pink WAS Soap & Glory. I picked up as many of the pink tubes as I could find, all with expiry dates in 2015 and beyond, but it is a losing battle. Boooo. Here are the skin care products I hauled from Soap & Glory:
  1. Ultimelt Deep Purifying Hot Cloth Cleanser
  2. Face Massage Mini Mitt
  3. Hand Food
  4. Scrub Your Nose In It
  5. Daily Smooth Body Butter
  6. I also got Dr Spot Super Strength Breakout Clearing  Gel but I can't seem to find it when I came home and unpacked. I've looked everywhere and suspect some airport official has opened my suitcase and it must have fallen out, as I know I didn't leave anything behind.
A word about each of these. The Ultimelt Deep Purifying Hot Cloth Cleanser is meant to replace the Fab Pore Hot Cloth Cleanser, a cult favourite. I love the wash cloth, though - it's an improvement and seems sturdier and of better quality. Please click on the pictures to enlarge them. This one deserves its own review. See the white packaging I was talking about? Boooo!

I bought the Face Massage Mini Mitt an hour before I waltzed into another pharmacy and picked up the Foreo Luna Mini. Still, this makes a nifty, cute pore cleanser I can fit into my purse while travelling. I've begun on the Foreo Luna and I can't live without it already (different from the Konjac Sponge. I'll do a detailed review and tell you why you need both).

Meanwhile, I'm so glad this came in the usual sassy packaging.

Hand Food did NOT have parabens in its formula. I still have some of my old containers left and I'll share the ingredients here once I do a dig up, maybe tomorrow - please watch this space for the update. Why did they add parabens now?

Scrub Your Nose In It is a lovely cleanser - not gritty but definitely with some zing to dig out the gunk from around the nose. I'm liking it already as a nice replacement for my Burt's Bees Deep Cleansing Cream. Both have the cool-mentholish zing as well. You can see here that the new white packaging means this lovely pink tube will soon be a thing of the past. And no, it isn't old stock - the expiry date is a decent 2015!

Daily Smooth Body Butter is a mini tube after I ran out of full body moisturiser during my trip. Again, I'm dismayed to find parabens. Let's hope the new white versions won't carry them. I went through tubs and tubs of The Righteous Butter and Butter Yourself and haven't found a single paraben.

I'm gutted about the loss of the Dr Spot Gel - this is the one I'm talking about. I've been searching through the same things every day and can confirm that nothing was left behind in my room back in the Gulf. Ah well, it's one of those things. At least I didn't lose anything else.
So I have mixed feelings about this haul. I'm delighted with Scrub Your Nose In It, the Massage Mitt and the Hot Cloth Cleanser, but not Hand Food and Daily Smooth. Nor am I looking forward to peering down at white tubes at Soap & Glory counters in future.
If you are a Soap & Glory fan, do you agree that the pink was/is better or do you prefer the more serious white packaging?
