EOTD: Silvery lilac and lavender smoky eye makeup look

Lilac is supposed to be one of the happening colours for 2014, according to Makeup.com's Facebook page, so I dug up all my palettes to find a lilac to do a smoky eye makeup look. I didn't find a true, rich lilac, though I managed to find a rather pale lilacy colour in the Accessorize  Lovely Day palette. I paired it with a silvery, paler lilacy-pink in the inner corners and a deeper lavender in the crease. It didn't look very smoky and I think the overall look is a tad too silvery for my skintone - it's certainly out of my comfort zone. Anyway, here it is!

I picked the three from the bottom - the lightest in the inner corner, the lilac on the lid and the lavender in the crease. The crease colour is exactly the tone of lavender flowers.

For the first time, I wore kohl on the lower lashline, too - this is Lancome Crayon Kohl in 01 Black/Noir from the Absolu Voyage palette. I love this kohl. I usually skive off doing anything to the lower lid or lashline because it always makes me look like a panda, but this one gives just the hint of black and won't budge unless you take it off with makeup remover. I've got a deluxe size as a gift with purchase with two more Rouge In Loves, so this pencil is going to feature regularly in my eye looks. You don't think it's overkill, do you?

This look was done with the Beautyblender Detailers brushes reviewed here. The eyeliner used was Michael Marcus cake eyeliner from my Lip Factory Box. As usual, the mascara was Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes. Remind me not to even try any other mascara - the Holika Holika mascara I bought recently was an epic fail and I had black flakes on my cheeks by lunch time.
My sojourn in the desert has made my skin very dry and flaky - as also my scalp - so you might see traces of that on the side of my nose. I'm moisturising heavily and hope the flakes go away soon, along with the cystic acne caused by Lancome Dream Tone.

This is my entry to the Smoky Eye Friday link-up hosted by Leticia of Cosmetics Aficionado. You can get the Inlinkz code here and participate as often as you like.
You see the cinnamon eyeshadow third from the top left corner in that palette? I'm going to try a look with that, maybe next week, paired with my new favourite black liquid eyeliner, picked up last week.
