I love the colour, smell and taste of cinnamon. Neutral eyeshadows can get a little monotonous on darker eyes and skin after a while, but I like the look of cinnamon; it isn't as meh. I've been hunting for a cinnamon-colour eyeshadow for a while. Most of them, despite being named appropriately, are either too brick or too brown in colour. I finally zeroed in on a cinnamon brown eyeshadow from the Accessorize Lovely Day palette - how versatile is that palette and why isn't it better-known?

Here's my matte cinnamon smoky eye makeup look and how I achieved it.

I used the cinnamon-brown eyeshadow on the top, third from extreme left, all over the lid, and the second black from the top on the extreme left. Both are matte eyeshadows; I wanted a change from the shimmers.

I forgot to use a highlighter shade at first, and did a shoddy job blending the crease out, thanks to being in a tearing hurry to leave. I tried to make up for it by applying the orange-brown below the cinammon, over the brow-bone with a light hand much later, but it didn't blend well so you can see an orange patch below the eyebrows. This was over Urban Decay Primer Potion and with Bourjois Erasable Eyeliner and Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes mascara.
