EOTD: Soft brown gold romantic eye makeup look with Too Faced A Few of My Favourite Things

For me, romantic is all about softness and subtlety. I haven't actually used gold eyeshadow in any of my EOTDs so far, and what better way to mark Valentine's Day than with a soft eye look? This isn't sultry or smouldering, and I haven't gone near black eyeshadow. I picked the Too Faced A Few Of My Favourite Things palette for this look, since it has a few soft shimmery golds, browns and bronzes.

Here is a soft brown gold romantic eye makeup look I did using the Too Faced A Few of My Favourite Things eyeshadow palette.

I went with a dab of Snowflakes, a pale silver-gold shadow, for the inner corners - very lighthanded, of course, since this is extremely pigmented. For the lids, I used Honey Honey, a cupric-gold that gets a bit lost on my skintone (I have neutral-to-yellow undertones). I used Buche de Noel, a shimmery dark brown, on the crease - very lighthanded again, since I wanted to keep this look very soft.

I finished up with Manic Panic Mascara in Creatures of the Night and MUA black liquid eyeliner. The latter seems to be nearing its last days, as it was hard to get the product out and it turned up in streaks. I went with the Urban Decay Primer Potion for this one and applied Lancome Crayon Kohl in 01 Noir on the lower lashline.

For once, there actually isn't a harsh line around my eyeshadow! It isn't perfect and I'm working on the tight-lined-eyeliner part of it, but the credit for whatever improvement you see goes to Sugandha of glammegal.com (her EOTDs make me want to hide my mug in the sand) who went through some 25 photographs I sent her and told me to use the tiniest brush for blending out, since my eyes are quite small (thanks, parents). She also told me to apply very little shadow and up the intensity only after trying out basic looks, so you will see some subdued looks in the coming weeks.
