EOTD: Matte neutral smoky eye makeup look with Too Faced A Few Of My Favourite Things

EOTD: Matte neutral smoky eye makeup look with Too Faced A Few Of My Favourite ThingsI have a preference for matte eyeshadows over the shimmery or pearly versions. For one, they do not reflect the light and make for better daytime wear, and, for another, they have less fallout than the glittery versions. The problem is finding matte eyeshadows with decent pigmentation, as they tend to be chalky and sheer.
But not all eyeshadows lead to chalky-land. The Too Faced A Few of My Favourite Things palette, reviewed here, has some matte eyeshadows that I absolutely love and are a dream to apply. Another favourite is theBalm's Meet Matt(e) (here), but I digress from today's eye look.

Here is a matte neutral smoky eye makeup look with the Too Faced A Few of My Favourite Things palette.

I decided to go with subtle medium brown shades for this look, and not to smoke it up much. Chocolate Milk (top third round swatch from left), a matte milky-brown, went all over the lids. I then used Woollen Mittens, a medium matte brown (below Chocolate Milk), in the outer crease alone. I used Cream Coloured Ponies (second row, second from right), a matte ivory shade, as the highlighter. Just the three matte shadows.
I had the weird idea of using the black eyeshadow in this palette - Pure Glam - as the eyeliner. This is mostly a matte eyeshadow but there is sparse glitter as you can see from my eyelids and eyelashes.

I applied the Lancome Crayon Kohl in Noir on my lower lashline. I really love how it makes me look. It is 100% smudge-proof and doesn't give me a jet-black-eyeliner look either! There is also a swipe of Benefit Gimme Brow on my eyebrows. I stuck to the Too Faced Shadow Insurance Primer and finished with the Estee Lauder Double Wear Zero Smudge Lengthening Mascara - it gives me neither length nor volume and flakes a bit as well, but I need to finish it up before it expires. You can barely see the mascara there.
