Tony Moly Memebox review, unboxing

Memebox Tony Moly beauty box review, unboxing
Throughout this week, a massive depression in the Arabian Sea has led to copious rainfall, accompanied by strong winds, thunder and lightning, and we have not seen sunlight in days. Even train services were halted and several trees have fallen, not to mention flooding on the roads. I have taken most of the photographs in this post outdoors at noon so you can see the lack of sunlight.
I had asked people on Facebook and Twitter if they wanted to see the Tony Moly box first, or the Oily/Troubled Skin box, and the majority voted in favour of Tony Moly, so here is the unboxing.
A Korean beauty box that ships to many countries (sign the petition here to get them to ship everywhere like they used to), Memebox often releases brand-only boxes. Do check out their website for various boxes and prices. The Banila Co. box was a disaster, so I had the heebie-jeebies about the Tony Moly one, despite the latter being one of the biggest Korean brands.

Here is my unboxing and review of the Tony Moly Superbox #9 from Memebox.

This is a Superbox, which means the products are full-sized.
Inside were:
  1. Mr Smile Patch
  2. Pocket Bunny Sleek Mist
  3. Petit Bunny Gloss Bar
  4. Egg Pore Silky Smooth Balm
  5. Nail Foundation Kit
  6. Floria Nutra-Energy 100 Hours Cream
  7. Tomatox Magic Massage Pack

They have included some of the best-known products from Tony Moly. A quick look at each:
Mr Smile Patch is a pair of hydro-gel cooling patches meant to be applied over laugh-lines. The black bean, sesame and blueberry and mulberry extracts in this product are supposed to "nullify" the laugh lines. I doubt that would happen but it would be a lark to wear this as a moustache and show my niece - who is already used to my Rhett Butler-impersonation - and get some deep hydration in the bargain.

The Pocket Bunny Sleek Mist had leaked in my box. Ah well. It smells really good and is a refreshing spray meant to remove extra shine from the skin. It contains extracts of pineapple, lemon and... cabbage!

Petit Bunny Gloss Bar in Juicy Cherry is probably one of Tony Moly's most famous products. The packaging is super-cute, isn't it?

The seal was broken and I had a heart-in-the-mouth moment until I opened it and all well intact.

Although Tony Moly says this is a lipstick and gloss combined into a creamy, long-lasting lip-crayon, it is definitely not pigmented and more of a tinted balm than anything else. Staying power is a joke. I am glad I did not spend money on this despite seeing it on W2Beauty all the time. But I will use it as a lip balm.

The Egg Pore Silky Smooth Balm, on the other hand, looks like a better prospect. It is a primer, mainly for enlarged pores. At first glance, it feels very siliconey - which is probably is.

The packaging is super-cutesy,with the eggshell-lid.

I love trying out new primers, so I look forward to working with this. It is supposed to make the skin "as elastic as egg whites".

I first thought the Nail Foundation Kit was some kind of base coat that would prevent staining and make it easy to remove glitter. Wishful thinking! This is just a set of three neutral creme polishes, Pink Beige, Classic Beige and Camel Beige.

I do not wear neutral polishes by themselves - meh - but will use these as base colours with various nail art looks.

Memebox Tony Moly beauty box review, unboxingWho will not wash their face for 100 hours? I would be COVERED in pimples if I tried such a stunt. The Floria Nutra-Energy 100 Hours Cream is supposed to provide intense hydration for 100 hours! They do not say if the effects will last even if you wash your face in the interim, which is highly unlikely, since most of us wash our faces two times a day at least. The other option is too gross to contemplate.

Either way, I will give this face moisturiser a go and hope it does not break out my vulnerable oily face.

The Tomatox Maggic Massage Pack is such a cult product. I probably will not open this for several months! You can see that I bought this very product from my favourite Korean beauty website W2Beauty a few months ago! I have used up less than one-thirds of the first jar and wonder when I will get around to finishing the first one, let alone starting on the second.

I should stop buying full-sized Korean cosmetics now that I have Memebox. Mind you, this is a great home-facial massage pack, which I will review in detail soon.

Summing up (You tell me a better replacement for "Bottom Line" then!)
A brilliant box. I look forward to trying out everything here, although I have been rather sarko about the descriptions on some of them - but you know me. I especially love that there are no BB or CC creams in this box. This box is currently out of stock but it has been restocked two times in the last couple of weeks, so you might want to keep a lookout for it. It costs $39 but I had a stock of some eight or so points to use up, which brought down the cost to $31. And I combined shipping with a host of other boxes.
I have more Memeboxes to show you, but will intersperse the posts with other reviews and makeup looks.
