Bobbi Brown Rich Lip Color Mod Pink review, swatches

Bobbi Brown Rich Lip Color Mod Pink review, swatches, photos
Yes, Bobbi Brown lipsticks are my new-found obsession. I need all their medium pinks and neutrals. Fabulous formula, colours that suit my tastes perfectly, great pigmentation, reasonable staying power and a price tag that does not have me running for cover - unlike these lipsticks - what more could I ask for?
Last week, I showed you Bobbi Brown Lip Color in N*ude, a beautiful soft brown. Today's lipstick is a shade I almost did not buy after seeing online swatches, but have grown to love.

Here is the review of Bobbi Brown Rich Lip Color in shade 13 Mod Pink, and swatches.

Since I already waxed eloquent about the no-nonsense, sturdy packaging last time, I am going to move on this time. Ditto the ingredients.

This is what Bobbi Brown says about Rich Lip Colors:
“Bright, get-noticed color in a wide range of shades that complement all skin tones. Lightweight, yet intense, Bobbi's latest long-lasting, non-drying formula combines pigments with a clear base to deliver pure, crisp color with just one swipe. Plus, it's creamy and moisturizing, so lips feel as good as they look."

The Rich Lip Colors come in 21 shades - an excuse to buy more, of course! They are super-pigmented and lightweight, like the regular Bobbi Brown lip colours, but these are semi-matte. They apply creamy but end up feeling more matte than creamy, although they are definitely non-drying. The difference is that the regular lip colours have a slightly glossier finish and are a wee bit heavier.

I had no feathering, bleeding or caking, despite not using lip liner or primer. I only needed one swipe for full coverage. This lipstick lasted around four hours or so on me before lunch. I had to reapply after meals, although there was still some colour left.
Now for the colour and swatches. I was almost a hundred percent sure that the colour would be a barbie pink that washed me out, and that it was certainly not my usual dusty rose and that it would not suit me. Mind you, that was when I was preparing my birthday wishlist and relying on online swatches. Mod pink, in reality, is a cool-toned soft-popping pink. It is on the brighter side, yes, but not in-your-face, seen-from-outer-space bright. Definitely keeps the conservative in me happy while providing a pop of colour on the face. Perhaps the most similar shade I own - not a dupe, just among the lipsticks I own - is Lancome Rouge in Love Rose Pitimini 253M. But Mod Pink is probably a shade pinker and "unfrosty".

This is what Mod Pink looks like on my lips. All photographs are in natural light. A nice, bright pink that does not scream at ya, and is soft enough for my subtle tastes.

Summary
I usually go in for lipsticks that are just the one shade pinker - dusty rose. But I really like this colour and am really glad I bought it. You can get it from Bobbi Brown counters or here.
I already have a second list of Bobbi Brown lippies that I want. No, make that need.
