Plum-pink EOTD with Sleek Vintage Romance palette

Pink EOTD with Sleek Vintage Romance palette
The south-west monsoons, from June to September, have started, which means "natural light" will be dark, grey and cloudy for the next few months, except for the odd, lucky moment. And I live on the coast, where the rains strike first and strike hard. And, it speaks volumes for my inability to write a good intro when I have to rely on the weather as a topic. So much for wanting to write thriller fiction about illegal organ harvesting and weapon-smuggling. Ah well.
Pink EOTD with Sleek Vintage Romance paletteWhile I love my Too Faced, theBalm, UD and Sephora palettes, I keep returning to Sleek palettes frequently, for the amazing quality and range of colours and the price. My all-time favourite Sleek iDivine palette is probably Vintage Romance, which I reviewed and swatched here. The colours in this palette are so "me", if you get my drift. And, as I told you a couple of weeks ago, I now prefer eye makeup that accentuates a single eyeshadow and this is no exception.

Today's eye makeup look features the Sleek iDivine eyeshadow palette in Vintage Romance.

In the inner corners and on the brow bone, I applied the lightest touch of Meet in Madrid, a light gold shimmer. This was just to lighten up the inner eye area. I then applied Pretty In Paris, a silvery shimmer, as a base colour on the inner one-thirds of the lids - you can see that this gave the main eyeshadow a mild gradient effect. Pink EOTD with Sleek Vintage Romance paletteFor the lid, I went with a light hand of Marry in Monte Carlo. This is a berry-pink eyeshadow which is just the right medium shade for the eyelids. I blended this out on the outer crease as well - so that I could stick to the single-eyeshadow look I patronise these days.
A light dash of Bourjois Erasable Eyeliner on the upper lid, Lancome Khol Crayon on the lower lid and Le Volume de Chanel Mascara on the upper lashes, and this look was done. Oh, and I used Kat von D High Voltage Eye Primer. Please ignore the scar on the bridge of my nose, which involved some kid trying to sharpen a pencil in the kindergarten.

Well, I think pinks can be pulled off even on medium skintone. Do you agree? Or do you think it looks positively garish like that yellow monstrosity I did a few weeks ago?
This is my submission to the Smoky Eye Friday link-up hosted by Leticia of Cosmetics Aficionado.
