Twelve favourite beauty products from early 2014

Twelve beauty discoveries from Jan-June 2014
This year, I have not come across any new foundations or primers that wowed me so far. Boo... hiss! My all-time favourite foundation continues to remain the Shiseido Sheer Mattifying Compact and my favourite mascara continues to be Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes.Nor did I come across an applicator that bettered my beloved Beautyblender either.
A number of my recent favourites are lipsticks, as I tried to move on from the discontinued Rose Garnet in Chanel Rouge Double Intensite.  And, I did discover my Holy Grail face serum. And a couple of lovely palettes and a brilliant eye primer, as you will see below.
These are pictured in no particular order, but the listing below is grouped into skin and hair care, eye palettes/makeup and lipsticks.

Here are 12 of my favourite beauty products from January to June 2014.

Lancome Advanced Genefique

I LOVE this serum and just picked up my second bottle. I first used a couple of samples and then bought the 30ml bottle. This time, I picked up the giant 75ml bottle. That should do for a good while. Detailed review coming up once I have a moment to myself.

GlamGlow YouthMud Tinglexfoliate Treatment Pack

Reviewed here. This is my go-to pack for a quick pick-me-up, or before special occasions when my skin needs some zing. Brilliant.

NUXE Huile Prodigeuse Multi Purpose Dry Oil

Reviewed here. This is one of the few hair oils that does not give me a stiff neck. Nor does it stain my pillow. Plus, it smells of cupcakes and makes my hair feel super-soft afterwards. What's not to like?

Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette

Reviewed here. One of my favourite neutral palettes now. Love the smell of chocolate, the look of this palette, the shades, the pigmentation... overall, a delight to all the senses.

Urban Decay N@ked 3 palette

The rose-tinted neutrals in this palette are brilliant and a welcome change from the usual browns in neutral palettes. Reviewed here

theBalm Voyage makeup palette

Reviewed here. I love the packaging of theBalm's palettes and this one is no exception. I have done a few EOTDs with this one already and do keep reaching out for this palette frequently. Plus, I love the lip colours.

Wet n Wild Fergie palette in Desert Festival

Reviewed and swatched here. This combination of shades is beautiful - look out for an EOTD with this.

Kat von D High Voltage Eye Primer

Reviewed here, this is my favourite eye primer - and I have tried UDPP, TFSI, theBalm's Put A Lid On It, UD Anti-Ageing PP and more. It locks in my eyeshadows and makes them stay put.

Too Faced La Creme lipsticks

Absolutely love this range. I have reviewed only one so far, though I have another half a dozen or so to show you. Delightful colours, pigmentation and feel.

Benefit Hydra Smooth Lip Color

Wing Woman, Talk Flirty and a couple of the other shades marked my foray from the world of "Chanel Rouge Double Intensite, Lancome Rouge in Love, and nothing else" into the world of "I will try new stuff, though I love Rouge D.I. best". The entire range is swatched and reviewed here.

Pixi Tinted Brilliance Balm in Radiant Rose

How pretty is this pink shade, reviewed here? This is the first lip crayon I fell in love with, after trying out a dozen or so brands. And my favourite lip crayon so far.

Bobbi Brown lip colors

Oh, I love these creamy, pigmented, subtle lippies! I have reviewed some of them on my blog, but have a few more in my stash to show you. Awesome stuff!
