Mid-year makeup wishlist for 2014

Mid-year makeup wishlist for 2014 My Beauty Junction
Half the year is over already! It seems like only yesterday that I was building this blog. I had begun this blog mainly to keep an eye on my growing stash and to restrict myself from buying things left, right and centre. How has that worked out so far? Ermmm... not very well. But, I can tell you two things:
  1. I have not bought any products just to blog about. Whatever I have bought was purchased after much wanting, with every intention of using. Some products have let me down in terms of colour because of weird store lighting, though.
  2. I used to have monthly wishlists, remember? Now I only have a wishlist quarterly, but it contains only half a dozen products, so I combine them into half-yearly wishlists. It is a start!

Here is a bit more about each makeup product on my mid-2014 wishlist.

Lip products that I want:

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lip Stains

No, I don't want that entire lot up there. I only need N*dist and Peach Club, because both are on the subtler side. I love Bourjois and these are stay-on lipstains that are not going to budge for up to eight hours. I keep haunting all the Bourjois counters here and the SAs are tired of telling me these haven't arrived yet.

Hourglass Opaque Rouge liquid lipstick

I always prefer liquid lipstick - not glossy stains, but proper liquids that set dry and stay onnnn - to any other formula. And because my favourite Chanel Rouge Double Intensite, reviewed here, has changed shades last year, I am always looking for good back-ups. I am looking at Canvas and Rose here.

Kat von D Everlasting Love Liquid Lipsticks

As above, and the shades I am looking at are Lolita and Berlin.

Too Faced Melted Marshmallow lipstick

I bought Melted Fuchsia, reviewed here, and Melted Coral. But Marshmallow, pictured to the right, is the Melted lipstick shade that caught my fancy the most. I also have my eye on N*de, Candy and maybe Peony.

YSL Rouge Volupte

I am probably the last makeup-user on the planet not to have tried one of these. I only want one as a treat, just for the pretty packaging. If I had to chuck out one product from this list, this would be the first to go.

Eyeshadows I want:

Lorac Pro Palette 2

I have not been excited by a palette for a while - I think the last palette I absolutely wanted was the Too Faced Chocolate Bar, reviewed here. This one, I need. Simply because of the plummy and navy shades in the top right hand corner of the palette.

Face products I want:

There are quite a few foundations/bases/face makeup products in here as I want to try out new things apart from wet-powder foundation.

Benefit The Big Easy

Who doesn't want a cream-to-powder-finish base that dries matte and feels lightweight, for the summer? My HG liquid foundation is Benefit Hello Flawless and I love the Hello Flawless powder as well, so I expect any Benefit face makeup to work well enough.

IT Cosmetics CC Cream

I have been hearing about this from so many bloggers and seeing photographs of the amazing coverage, so this is definitely on my lust-list. It contains ingredients that the best of Korean CC creams do, including, I believe, snail extract, but this comes in a broader range of shades, whereas you only have two shades for most Korean CC creams - pale and paler, lol.

IT Cosmetics Celebration Foundation compact

Liquids may come and creams may go, but powder foundations work best on my super-oily, large-pored skin. That, combined with rave reviews I have read, is why this is on my wishlist. Shades are supposedly a lot lighter than the names and photos suggest, so I might have to try out Tan and see how it goes.

Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation

Having the most oily face on the planet means I am always looking out for foundations that will keep me matte for as long as possible, and I have read reviews saying this is one foundation tailor-made for oily skin. I want to know if that is true, but I worry a little about a shade-match - apparently, most of the medium shades in this foundation are beige-based while I have yellow undertones.

Benefit Agent Zero Shine

I am a huge fan of the Porefessional primer and have tried a couple of samples of this powder (review after I come back), and like what I have seen so far. I can actually get away with just Porefessional primer and this powder for short-term requirements and don't need to slather on the foundation. Even otherwise, this would make a nice setting powder.

Nail polishes I want:

OPI Gwen Stefani Collection 2014

Actually, no. I do not want the colour-polishes shown in the collage above, but Push and Shove, a beautiful foil, In True Stefani Fashion, a glitter, and Over and Over A-Gwen, for the Swarovski crystals it comes with. I couldn't find a picture of those, though. Can do without at a pinch.

Ciate Crushed Shell Manicure Kit

Ah, now this I need. Crushed shells! You apply the base and then cover your nails in bits of crushed shells and fix up with a top coat. Cool!

Ciate Flower Manicure Kit

You have to hand it over to Ciate for innovative nail art. This pretty kit contains flowers in varying sizes and colours, and in groups! Who does not want a bouquet manicure?

Not pictured:

  1. Makeup Geek brushes.
  2. Random lipsticks that catch my fancy, and nail polishes just because.
Summary
Quite a few foundations there, innit? That is because I am in the market for more non-powder foundations. I found THE best powder foundations that work for me, which I use on an everyday basis. I also love Benefit Hello Flawless liquid and Bourjois 10 Hour Sleep Effect. I want a really light barely-there foundation that works for me, which is why those CC/BB-creams are up there. Only one palette, though - my December wishlist included four! And, only five lipsticks. The December list had a dozen or so lol. I am improving!
