Ipsy November 2014 beauty bag review

Ipsy November 2014 beauty bag review
The November 2014 Ipsy Glam Bag is themed "Girl Meets Glitter". The info card says the secret to making the ordinary extraordinary is to add some glitter, shimmer and shine to your everyday look. The bag is by Forever21 for Ipsy and is a pretty glittery silver bag I love. I must say this is the prettiest Ipsy bag I have seen in recent times and the prettiest in my Ipsy collection (which is very young). I am going to replace my touch-up bag which I keep in my handbag, with this one. Currently, I am using a grey bag from Bourjois and the Ipsy bag is prettier and more fun. And now for the contents.

Read on for my review of the November 2014 Ipsy Glam Bag.

Ipsy November 2014 beauty bag review

I received the following in my Ipsy bag:
  • Be Delectable Vanilla and Cream Supremely Rich Body Wash 60ml
  • Elizabeth Mott You're So Fine Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Glitterati
  • Love & Beauty By Forever21 Creme Lipstick in shade Berry Baie
  • Be A... Bombshell Cosmetics Eye Base in shade Submissive
  • Temptu Highlighter in Pink Pearl
I think three of these - the lipstick, the eyeliner and the eye base - are full-sized, which is quite decent and unlike recent Ipsy bags I have seen! Here are my first impressions of each.

Be Delectable Vanilla and Cream Supremely Rich Body Wash

This has the most wonderful, delicious smell and I know I will feel alternately decadent and hungry while using this. Yummmm! There is a generous 60ml and I am definitely taking this tube into the shower.

Elizabeth Mott You're So Fine Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Glitterati

When I saw the shade name, I was apprehensive that this eyeliner would be too glittery for my liking, like one of those chunky-glitter-submerged-in-random-base messes, a la LA Splash. Know what I mean? I was wrong! Check out the photo below. I love this eyeliner! The glitter is subtle and the formula is homogenous enough, and you can get as thick or fine a line as you want. Ignore the narcissistic swatch and my shaky hand.

Love & Beauty By Forever21 Creme Lipstick in shade Berry Baie

This lipstick is certainly creamy, but the shade is way too deep for my liking. As the shade implies, it is a berry. This is my Mum's shade and I will pop it into her Christmas stocking as a little extra.

My first thought was, "Oh no, not another BAB product". This is a soft glittery cream that can be used as a base eyeshadow. I love the shade, swatched on the right, and find I can get away with using this on its own. Very pretty!

Temptu Highlighter in Pink Pearl

While I was thrilled to receive a Temptu sample, I did worry about this highlighter making me look sparkly or clownish - it actually blends out so well and gives me the softest glow, which is visible only if you look close enough. I love the Temptu formula and would love to try out their foundations some day, if I can get a decent shade match.

Summary

After the last few months, when tiny meh samples were featured in Ipsy bags, I am happy with the November bag in terms of size of the products as well as quality. I wish I had got the Laura Mercier powder, but there is no pleasing everyone and I am not exactly the luckiest of people. I can find a use for everything, even the bag itself, and love the Be Delectable wash and the eyeliner. I wonder what the December bag will bring. Perhaps it will be red and green?
