Beauty products emptied in November 2014

Beauty products emptied in November 2014

There are three things to keep in mind when you want to prevent yourself from hoarding beauty products, in order to make yourself use up the products in your stash. The first is, the more you use up, the more you will need to buy - which is a good thing, right? Secondly, expiry dates! And finally, the empties posts you can do every month with all the tubes, jars and sachets waiting to be binned. It is these three factors which help me use up as much as I can, along with all-over moisturising two times a day. You will be surprised at how quickly those pots of body butter empty up, and at how soft your skin becomes. Right, I'm waffling.

On to the beauty products I used up in November 2014 and my thoughts on each.

Hair care products

Beauty products emptied in November 2014
Mise En Scene Perfect Repair Pack
From a Memebox. Possibly one of the few Korean hair care products that does not reek of menthol. Felt good, detangled nicely, but did not do anything for my frizz.
Repurchase? No.
Ouidad Curl Quencher Moisturising Shampoo
Lathered brilliantly; left hair squeaky clean without being harsh or causing frizz. Nice. Downside? Contains ALS.
Repurchase? Probably.
Phyto Universal Scalp Elixir 4ml
There was enough in this vial for just the one use. Cleared up all scalp flaking and left scalp squeaky clean and hair soft and silky.
Repurchase? Yes!

Bath and body products

Rausch Shower Cream
This came from some hotel stay or the other - I've forgotten where. Yes, I'm cheap enough to hang on to the complimentary toiletries, so there. I have half a dozen more of these in my travel bag. I love this shower cream. It is very gentle on the skin, smells great and feels silky on the skin.
Repurchase: If I knew from where.
Nuxe Ultra Comfortable Body Cream and 24hr Moisturising Body Lotion
Huge Nuxe fangirl here. I loved using these sachets while on a weekend break at my Gramps's. Each sachet contained enough for one use. I already have a full-sized body cream from Nuxe, so no repurchase at the mo'.
The Body Deli Melon-Peptide Creme Gel
Containing cantaloupe, this great-smelling gel was the best face moisturiser I used in November 2014. It did not break me out and left my skin matte for a while - read 20 minutes, which is a very decent time.
Repurchase? Not until I run out of a dozen or so other face moisturisers.
Dahliana Naturals Overnight Fruit Lift Creme
This came from A Beautiful World S/S'14 box. It smelt great and worked well as a neck moisturiser, which is where all those collagen or lifting creams are going right now.
Repurchase? No; I don't need lifting creams as of now.

Body moisturisers

Bliss Grapefruit+Aloe Body Butter
I have been loving Bliss skin care recently. I used up this body butter during a weekend break. It sunk in very easily and left me feeling silky, not sticky.
Repurchase? No; Grace Cole body butters are even silkier!
Ozzie Lalavesi Real Akma Beurre Cream
From the Yes Style box. An organic body butter containing shea butter and almond oil; paraben-free. This is my favourite body butter of the month. I love the tin packaging this came in, the mild pleasant fragrance and the lightweight feel on the skin.
Repurchase? I've lost count of the body butters I have to use up, so no.
MuLondon White Chocolate Elbow, Knee and Heel Cream
From A Beautiful World beauty S/S'14 box. My favourite winter cream for elbows, knees and feet. I have reviewed this cream on this blog. It smells and looks just like white chocolate and is 100% natural. Love this forever. I have another whole jar left.
Repurchase? Yes, please!

Cleansers, eye care and deos

Lanoa Natural Soap
A Memebox product. This is a natural, gentle soap which did not leave my skin feeling stripped. Did not clean makeup very well either, though. But on the bright side, there were no breakouts, so yay!
Repurchase? Nope, not when there are better cleansers around.
Nude Advanced Renewal Eye Complex
After the two uses from this little sample, I am intrigued enough by this uber-hydrating eye cream to want to try it for a longer period.
Repurchase? Yes. The smallest available pot/jar/tube.
Clarins One-Step Facial Cleanser
God-awful. The so-called "orange" extract smelt weird; it did not do a good job removing makeup and my Foreo Luna had foundation all over it when I used it, plus, it left an oily residue all over the face. Somehow, Clarins products and my skin have never liked each other.
Repurchase? Hell, no!
Bliss Fabulous Foaming Face Wash
Decent. I used this in the morning, so I cannot vouch for its makeup-removing abilities, but this face wash was certainly refreshing.
Repurchase? No, got too many cleansers to get through.
Primal Pit Paste
A deodorant paste from the Vegan Cuts box. This is a vegan product and contained lavender, which is one of my favourite fragrances. It was easy to apply and did not leave my armpits feeling sticky - and I sweat a lot. The fragrance did not last as long as I like and was very mild.
Repurchase? Naaaah.

Sheet masks

Cristallin Home Care Wrinkle Effect Cellulose Mask
Pure Smile Strawberry Milk Essence Mask
Purederm Choco Cacao Collagen Mask
Dr Pharm Pomegranate Real Natural Essence Mask Sheet
Of these sheet masks, my favourite was the Purederm Choco Cacao Collagen Mask - mostly because of the chocolatey smell and in terms of hydration. Second was the Pomegranate Mask, followed by the Strawberry Milk Essence Mask.
Repurchase? No, not sheet masks.

Foot, sun care

The Ssak Foot Care Pack
One of those sock-like hydrating foot packs. Not as good as my favourite Holika Holika Baby Silky Foot packs; it was not as moisturising as the former.
Repurchase? Nope.
Skin&Lab Dr Vita Clinic Fre-C Sun Protector
From Wishtrend. Three of these sachets were needed to cover my arms and feet. A decent sunscreen; non-sticky, spread easily and left no white residue. Contains vitamin C, an added plus.
Repurchase? No; got too many sunscreens to be used up.
