Holiday 2014 Beauty Haul Part I

Holiday 2014 Beauty Haul Part I

It is a truth universally acknowledged that no beauty product junkie can resist shopping during Christmas time. There are sales, offers, gifts with purchase, new launches and other excuses to shop.  I took advantage of some of the offers to pick up products I had been eyeing for a while.
This is the first part of a consolidated haul from November and December 2014, from Beauty.com, Sephora, Beauty Bay and more. I just kept buying and buying, and even my folks were roped into picking up my orders from Beauty.com and Sephora - see my gifts with purchase here and here. And now, I am looking forward to travelling early next year and, ahem, checking out the local stores. There is a reason it is called an addiction, you know. I will review these products once I have given them a decent run.

Take a look at some of the beauty products I purchased/received over the Holiday Season.

Emjoi Micro-Pedi

I got this from here. This gadget has my feet thanking me forever. How did I live without it all this while?

The Brush Egg

I wanted one of those Sigma gloves but the cost was insane for what my sister described as "a piece of a rubber carpet from the floor of someone's old car". Ouch! This handy piece costs a mere $5 and will change your brushes' lives and the skin of your palm for the better.

Pixi Tinted Brilliance Balm in Magnific Mauve

I already have the Tinted Brilliance Balm in Radiant Rose and love it - check out my review here. I'm glad to have another shade. Get them all here.

Bye Bye Blemish Drying Lotion For Acne

I really hope this works on me - the Balance Me eraser from a previous LookFantastic box has given me the worst breakout since Lancome Visionnaire. I feel like giving up skincare altogether.

Cailyn Tinted Lip Balm in Sunburst, Velvet Rose and Apple Pink

These are not tinted lip balms, but seriously pigmented lip colours. I ordered them from the Cailyn website after seeing them in Ipsy bags (I missed out - Boo). Apple Pink is my favourite shade.

Dr Brandt CC Mat Shinerase

From here. Best CC cream I have ever tried. It has the coverage of a foundation and mattifies superbly.

Cover FX Oil Absorbing Primer and Blotting Powder in Medium

This is not a foundation or a setting powder, but a sheer oil-removing powder which you blot on the face gently.

Cover FX Camouflage Concealer in Medium

I am loving everything from this paraben- and cruelty-free brand lately. Available here, if you cannot wait until my detailed review.

IT Cosmetics Celebration Foundation

Perfectly yellow-toned, made to order. It feels creamy and covers imperfections so well.

Miracle Skin Transformer Treat and Conceal

This concealer contains marine collagen, chamomile and white rose extracts. My only gripe is that it is sheerer than the concealers I am used to, so I have to apply a bit of foundation above this.

Crabtree and Evelyn Nail Lacquer in Peony

My first C&E polish, a stocking-stuffer from my Mum. I wish she had picked a slightly more happening colour, such as virulent blue or something. However, this is a great chance to check out the C&E formula. Maybe I can do some nail art with it, if I find the time.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation in Neutral Medium

I had written "Medium Tan Sand" in my list, based on online swatches, but my Mum called to say she thought Neutral Medium would be more right, and was she right, as usual!

Tarte Airbuki Bamboo Powder Foundation Brush

The brush to go with the above. I tell you, if you own the powder - or any loose powder without this brush - you have not lived.

Skinn Intellitint Collagenesis Color Correcting Treatment

This product is supposed to adapt itself to suit your skintone. I love how buildable it is. Decent trial run required before I say more.

IT Cosmetics Dual Concealer Brush

I had to have all the IT Cosmetics Concealer brushes - can't believe I overlooked this one. From my Beauty.com orders.

Miracle Skin Transformer: Acne Control

I tried a sample of this and fell in love. I got the acne control version - perfect!

NARS Audacious lipsticks

Swatches coming up soon! My Mum insisted on being allowed to choose these shades and sneakily tried to get me out of my dusty rose comfort zone but thanks to my input, insistence and threats, I remain more or less true to subtle lip colours.

Shiseido Ibuki Eye Correcting Cream

I loved the sample and got myself the full size. It helps with dark circles, but that could be all the sleep I'm forcing myself to get.

Shiseido Pore Smoothing Corrector

I got this because they were giving out a handbag free with two Shiseido products. But it mattifies like no tomorrow.

St Ives Pink Lemon & Mandarin Orange Scrub

A stocking stuffer. I could eat this; it smells that good!

Murad Environmental Shield set

A little travel set I bought to make up the total to get a GWP from Feelunique.

China Glaze All Aboard Collection with display

Beats me how that display turned up without a crease after 48 hours in a suitcase. I am more excited about the display than the polishes right now and am trying to find a place to keep the whole thing without making an almighty mess.
Holiday 2014 Beauty Haul Part I

Now I have this craving for Tom Ford. I have left out a few things - my Boxing Day purchases, some Christmas prezzies and so on. Will post part II soon.

What beauty products did you receive/purchase recently? Do we have the same goodies? Did you love or hate anything? Tell me in the comments below.
