Ipsy Glam Bag December 2014 review, unboxing

Ipsy Glam Bag December 2014 review, unboxing

My December 2014 Ipsy Glam Bag turned up a day after December was over, which is more than can be said of some beauty subscriptions. Possibly because of all the Holiday mail. I like the black and pink bag sent out this month; it will come in handy for packing a toothbrush, toothpaste and other toiletries that do not fit into my makeup bag while travelling.
The product card informs me that I am a "brave soul". While I wish I could have participated in a bayonet charge or cavalry charge in the 19th century, I'm sure that anyone who has seen my behaviour within a few metres of a lizard will disagree wholeheartedly with the product card's sentiment. There are three full-sized products in this bag.

Check out the contents of my December 2014 Ipsy bag below:

1. Beauty Without Cruelty Premium Aromatherapy Facial Cleanser

A 100% vegan and cruelty-free face cleanser with 3% AHA. I haven't tried it out yet -  my face looks like all the New Year fireworks from across the globe settled down on my skin.

2. Pixi Fairy Dust in Brightening Bare

I love Pixi but I have never tried out a Fairy Dust before - fine powdery eyeshadow that spreads nicely. This is a pretty neutral that gives a barely-there look with a subtle glow. I am going to check out more shades, especially Copper Sheen and Mocha Magic.

3. NYX Butter Lip Balm in Red Velvet

This "balm" is more pigmented than some lipsticks I have tried. I wore it at night and now there are red marks all over my pillow.

4. Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara

This is the second mini tube I have of this mascara, which I love. Puts off buying the full-sized tube. Review soon.

5. Crown Infinity Shadow/Crease duet brush

I have wanted a Crown brush for a while now. One end is good for precision and inner corners while the other is fluffy enough to blend out shadows or to pack colour.

Summary

With three full-sized products, this is one of the better Ipsy bags I have received so far. For me, the hit products are the Crown brush and the Tarte mini mascara, though I can certainly use everything. The bag does not feel plasticky and tacky, but a brighter colour would have been great. I wish I had got the Cailyn Mineral Eye Polish - it looks good on other unboxing posts I have seen. I wonder what they have in store for January. Hopefully there will be two or three full-sized products from some nice brands.
