Beauty products used up in January 2015

Hydrating and cleansing products I used up in January 2015.

Beauty products used up in January 2015

January was a hectic month for me; February promises to be even more so, with a lot of travelling. I could only use two face masks last month, instead of my usual weekly packs. Nor did I exfoliate even once. Who has the time to live anymore?
I did, however, stick to my all-over-moisturising and strict facial cleansing routines. So this empties post is divided into hydrating products and cleansing products.

Check out the beauty products I used up in January 2015, and my quick thoughts about each:

Botanical Splash natural body moisturiser, reviewed here

This 100% natural, plant oil-based moisturiser has been a godsend during the dry season. A few drops after every shower keeps the reptilian fish scales at bay, and the lightweight, non-greasy oil smells great. Read my detailed review here.
Buy it here.
Repurchase? Yes.

The Body Shop Peppermint Cooling Foot Lotion

A rather heavy foot cream, my favourite part about this was the pepperminty smell. It also kept my feet cool all night - I have feet that get really warm and uncomfy while sleeping. I am not a fan of TBS products right now - here's why - and there are a few other foot creams waiting in my stash, so I will not be repurchasing. Also, a foot mask used two or three times a week is a lot better than a foot cream.
Repurchase? No.

Konad Mango Moisture Hand Cream

This hand cream had the most sweet, fruity fragrance. It absorbed easily enough. There are a few hand creams I have to get out of the way, so I will not be repurchasing.
Repurchase? No.

Yves Saint Laurent Forever Youth Liberator Eye Cream

I received this free eye cream sample sometime last year; for something that costs $100 for 1.40oz, this did not do anything for my dark circle or dry under-eye area.
Repurchase? No, I still possess all my mental faculties, thank you very much!

Sheet masks

Both masks this time are tea tree-based; tea tree is one ingredient that does not do anything for my breakouts or oily skin.
Repurchase? Nope.

Etude House Hand Bouquet Rich Butter Foot Mask, reviewed here

A pair of socks that you wear overnight, these will deliver concentrated hydrating serum to the feet for hours. There is no moisture loss or staining of bedclothes or hosiery, thanks to the protective plastic sleeves. Think of it as a foot spa while you sleep. Detailed review here.
Buy it here.
Repurchase? Of course!

Cleansing products

5 Alpha Control Cleansing Gel

I fail to see how they can claim this controls oil. Normally, face washes meant for oily skin leave my skin matte and pleasantly tight till the grease comes back - this did neither. Nor did it get rid of my makeup.
Repurchase? Whaffor?

Shamar Aloe Vera and Goat Milk Soap

I picked this up from this village while trekking in the Western Ghat hills (one of the top eight biodiversity hotspots in the world, in terms of diverse flora and fauna) last Fall - the soap is made by the locals of the area and is packed in bark. It is, without a doubt, the best soap I have ever used. The smell was great and it was so creamy and decadent. I am KICKING myself seriously for not having bought more than one, or a few dozen. Who can be bothered to climb all those miles again - with motion sickness - for soap?
Repurchase? I want to, but the fiddly thing seems to be unavailable away from mountain tops and the website won't sell online.

Palan Crysence 100% Natural Mineral Marin Shampoo and Power Treatment

My hair loved the mild, watery shampoo; the power treatment did not do anything for me and caused enough product build up to necessitate immediate hair brush cleansing. I mean that! Who knew a mere conditioner could pack so much lint?
Repurchase? The shampoo alone.

That's it for January '15. I'm not really pleased with the quantity of empties or my skincare regimen; hopefully I will stick to my routine better in February.
