Beauty products emptied in February 2015

Skin and hair care empties from February 2015.

Beauty products emptied in February 2015

Why is it the end of February already? I keep writing "2014" wherever I have to enter dates, and have to correct it later - even this post was first titled "Beauty products emptied in February 2014". By the time I realise it is 2015, it will be 2016.
On the bright side, my skin care routine is back to normal. I moisturised regularly, used eye creams and a face serum and cleansed well enough. Now if only I can get my sleep routine back to a decent seven hours a night, my dark circles would subside.

Check out the beauty products I emptied in February 2015 and my quick impressions about each.

Cleansing products

Beauty products emptied in February 2015

Molton Brown Pink Pepperpod Body Wash

BEST DANG BODYWASH on the planet. The smell of pink pepperpod is the best wake-me-up in the mornings. I have another bottle of Molton Brown to get through - but that is another fragrance - and once that is over, I will repurchase!
Repurchase? Forever and ever, world without end, Amen.
Buy it here.

BWC Facial Cleanser

Worst cleanser ever. I got this in my December Ipsy bag and got bumps all over my forehead - where I never get zits - and had to use this to clean my makeup brushes and sponges. I hate throwing away cleansers, which is why this one went in as a brush cleaner. Even so, I blame my existing three breakouts solely on this disgustoid excuse for skincare.
Repurchase? Over my dead body.

Cetaphil Cleansing & Moisturising Bar

The weather has been so dry that I wanted to use something very mild in the nights, so I fell back on good old Cetaphil. This was mild, fragrance-free and gentle enough to deal with my flaky, breakout-riddled skin.
Repurchase? Intermittently. You cannot live without Cetaphil.

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Oil-Free Cleanser

The first Kiehl's product I have tried. There was only enough for one use; it was quite decent in removing oil and grime. I would love to try a couple more samples of this before deciding if it is worth buying the full size.
Repurchase? Too soon to tell, I will need to try this out a couple more times.

Rausch Shower Cream

From some hotel or the other; I keep using these for when I travel. Super-gentle, smooth and with a lovely fragrance, I would be in love with these if Molton Brown did not have my heart already.
Repurchase? No, thanks to Molton Brown.

MAX Clinic Night Massage Oil Foam

Best cleansing oil I have tried; it removes makeup in a jiffy. I've reviewed this here. There are a dozen or so more sachets I have to use up, but I already have the full size.
Repurchase? Already did.

Makeup removing products

LA Fresh Travel-Lite Oil-Free Makeup Remover Wipes

I was not as impressed with these as I had expected to be. Any regular face wipe does as good a job as this one. Micellar water on a cotton pad does a far superior job.
Repurchase? Nope.

Nuxe Micellar Cleansing Water, reviewed here

I fell in love with micellar water as a makeup remover thanks to this bottle. Until then, I preferred the bi-phase formula. Micellar water is a lot gentler on the skin and does not leave residue.
Repurchase? Of course!
Buy it here.

Eye care products

Sephora Power Mask

I still have one more of these horrible, sticky, useless things to finish. Basically they are gel-like stickers you affix to the under-eye area, where they cling on until you tear them off, giving yourself a dozen more wrinkles in the process. Instead of quite fulfilling their claim of smoothing the skin, removing wrinkles and so on.
Repurchase? What am I, mental?

H2O Eye Mender Plus

You know those creams which feel like you're rubbing plain water or air into your skin? This was one of them. The only thing I liked about this cream was that it did not leave white residue on the under-eye area. No hydration, no help with dark circles or puffiness, zilch.
Repurchase? I'd rather make paper boats with my money and sail 'em in the backwaters.

Givenchy Hydra Sparkling Eye Reviver Gel

From the name, I expected it to be glittery or shimmery. It is not. It does not leave any residue, shimmery or otherwise, and hydrates better than 99% eye creams out there. I do not have that dry, stretched look in the under eye area when I apply this below my makeup. I would love it if it worked on dark circles, but clearly, good sleep is the only answer to that one.
Repurchase? Bought two tubes. Keeper.

Hair care products

Phyto Secret de Nuit Intense Hydrating Regenerating Night Cream

Right. I need a few dozen vats of this. It is not a hair oil or serum or elixir; you apply it to the hair - not scalp - overnight and rinse it out in the morning for soft, frizz-free hair. And that is exactly what it did for me. This sachet was enough for one use but now I want more.
Repurchase? Absolutely!
Buy it here.

Kiehl's Olive Fruit Oil Nourishing Shampoo

I did so want to love this, but it did not do anything for my terrible hair. Moreover, it contains SLS. I'm on a sulphate-free mission here.
Repurchase? Nyet. Nein. Non. Got it?

Face masks

Beauty products emptied in February 2015

Pure Smile Milk Essence Mask

Take away the strong dairy smell and this was a nice, hydrating sheet mask.
Repurchase? I do not repurchase sheet masks; if I did, I would have enough till 2020.

Lassie'el Night Sleeping Miracle mango mask

THE best sleeping mask I've used so far. There was enough for two uses. I already have more of these. Stay tuned for my review soon.
Repurchase? YES!

L'Occitane Verbena Body Lotion

For the verbena fragrance alone, I would repurchase this. A light, paraben-free body lotion that smells divine. Love this range.
Repurchase? Have another bottle waiting.

Hang Ten 50 Sport Sunscreen

Ugh! The chemical stench reeked through my clothes. Barf! Who cares whether it worked or not? I managed to finish this during a cold.
Repurchase? Only if you chop my nose off.

Lancome Genefique Youth Activating Concentrate

I prefer the advanced version of this formulation, which is my Holy Grail face serum. You can check out my review here.
Repurchase? On my third bottle. Love this!

Jersey Shore Sun Mongongo Lip Conditioner

From an Ipsy bag. This is in Mandarin Green Orange Ginger. I hate ginger on my lips, so I used it as a cuticle balm. It became squishy after a point.
Repurchase? No. Can't stand ginger in my skincare.

Dresdner Essenz Wellness Creme

A beautiful, grape-based, paraben-free moisturiser from a German brand. Got it in some beauty box or the other; it is hard to keep track sometimes.
Repurchase? I would if I had the foggiest idea where to get German brands.

Barbanie Flower Garden Shea Butter Hand Cream in Violet Musk

Violet Musk smells beyond amazing! This was a great hand cream to apply at night; it was soothing and helped me sleep better. Kind of like those lavender-based sleep mists.
Repurchase? There are a few dozen hand creams waiting to be finished, so I'm not buying any hand creams for now.
