Memebox Cleanse Morning & Night beauty box review, unboxing

A Memebox with five full-sized cleansing products.

Memebox Cleanse Morning & Night beauty box review, unboxing

Having seriously acne-prone and oily skin that breaks out if I skip one session of facial cleansing, I am obsessed with cleansing products and use cleansing oils, face washes, scrubs, hot cloths and makeup removers with alarming regularity. Cleansing beauty boxes always attract me - check out the first Memebox Cleansing box here, and the Wishtrend Cleansing box here.
Last month, Memebox resumed release of regular beauty boxes, and one of their offerings was the Cleanse Morning and Night box. The box promised products for a squeaky-clean face all day long. I expected a cleansing oil, a peeling gel, a foaming face wash, a face and/or body scrub, maybe a body wash and a cleansing brush/wipes, and a toner. The latter is pretty much a dead cert in most Korean skincare boxes.

Read on for my review and unboxing of the Memebox Cleanse Morning & Night beauty box.

My box contained:
  1. SHARA SHARA Dream of Moisture Cleansing Oil 150ml
  2. YADAH Pore Refining Foam Cleanser 100ml
  3. CALMIA Oatmeal Peeling Gel 100g
  4. BORY White Snow Toner 130ml
  5. NEOGEN Neoday Eye Remover Pencil 2.6g

Five full-sized products there. Here are my first impressions of each.

BORY White Snow Toner 130ml

Strictly speaking, a toner should follow cleansing, but Koreans regard it as part of the cleansing regimen. This contains hyaluronic acid, licorice extract, and morus alba bark to clarify and hydrate the skin and to remove impurities. I'm not a fan of toners; they do very badly on me, so this will probably be given away.

CALMIA Oatmeal Peeling Gel 100g

Generally, peeling gels are supposed to incorporate a bunch of chemicals but this contains oatmeal and honey, and is mild and natural. It smells pleasant and sweet and not chemical-ish. Suffice it to say that this is the best peeling gel I have tried so far.

YADAH Pore Refining Foam Cleanser 100ml

This face wash contains egg white extracts, mineral water, and flower water and is meant for oily skin - loud "BINGO" sound here. It is harm-free, without parabens, sulphates, mineral oil, and a bunch of other nasties. I am always running out of face wash and that this is oil-free is such a huge bonus. Loving this.

SHARA SHARA Dream of Moisture Cleansing Oil 150ml

There is nothing like cleansing oil to remove makeup completely, and I now incorporate it in my evening cleaning regimen. Again, this is a product I am always running out of. The Shara Shara cleansing oil contains sweet almond oil, avocado oil, argan oil and honey extract and is also harm-free. Looks like this Memebox leans more natural than recent efforts from them. This leaves no greasy residue and is very gentle on the skin.

NEOGEN Neoday Eye Remover Pencil 2.6g

I sincerely hope this product will not remove my eye. What a name!
Remember the Bourjois Erasable Eyeliner? This is very similar, but without the eyeliner as such! One end contains a correction stick to remove boo-boos you make in your eyeliner, or mascara smudges. Unlike the Bourjois correction stick, though, this doesn't just rub off booboos; it is oil-based and balm-like and actually removes makeup.
The other end is a little sponge, to dip in water or makeup remover fluid and correct mistakes or remove makeup.
A brilliant little product to carry in your makeup bag or to keep in your vanity for makeup boo-boos. Someone as klutzy as I will definitely need this.

Verdict

A very good Memebox, after a while. I love that they included a cleanser for eye makeup. As expected, there is a very good mix of a cleansing oil, a peeling gel, a foaming cleanser and a toner. I was slightly disappointed at the lack of a scrub, but a peeling gel serves as an exfoliant anyway. This was a very good deal with five full-sized products, which will appeal universally. All products can be used and will replenish the stash. I prefer this cleansing box to the Special 19 Cleansing Kit released by Memebox (linked in the opening paragraph).
This box sold out very quickly, but a Winter Skin Revival Box, a Korean Cosmetics Starter Box and more Memeboxes are available here - do check them out!
