Ipsy Glam Bag March 2015 review

Floral-themed bag with beauty goodies for Spring.

Ipsy Glam Bag March 2015 review, unboxing, photos

The March 2015 Ipsy Glam Bag is themed "Floral Fantasy" and is pretty. The blue background with yellow, white, grey and pink flowers is very Spring-y. Best of all, it isn't cheap-vinyl. This time, I've got three full-sized products and two travel sizes. Three makeup products and two skincare products. Which is a nice balance.

Scroll down to view the contents of my Ipsy Glam Bag for March 2015.

I received:
  1. NYX Butter Lipstick in Little Susie
  2. Pixi Mesmerising Mineral Duo in Apricot Glow
  3. Crown Shadow/Crease Duet Brush
  4. Pur-lisse Gentle Soy Milk Cleanser
  5. Leeanni Eco 3-IN-1 Toner, Serum and Moisturiser
First impressions of each further below.

NYX Butter Lipstick in Little Susie

A beautiful Spring shade, Little Susie is a bit brighter than my usual dusty rose. It reminds me of NARS Audacious Natalie, but this has more coral and is a tad paler. Very creamy, this lipstick is more pigmented than I expected. I have swatches of everything for you towards the end of this post.

Pixi Mesmerising Mineral Duo in Apricot Glow

Beauty boxes can send me anything from Pixi and I will not complain. I love that brand and think it doesn't get as much love as it ought. These are both beautiful, smooth, complementary shades with very good pigmentation.

Crown Shadow/Crease Duet Brush

They can send me any number of brushes as well. I was sorting my makeup brushes as part of Spring Cleaning last weekend and found that I did not have as many all-over shadow brushes as I would like (according to ME), so this is great. The thing is, I already have this exact brush. But it is very good quality, and the more brushes you have, the more you can rotate without cleaning them, so yay!

Pur-lisse Gentle Soy Milk Cleanser

The only Pur-lisse products I have used before are the sunscreens and moisturisers from previous Ipsy bags. I'll be glad to try out this gentle soy milk cleanser. Apparently, it removes all makeup in one go, including mascara. If it does that, I would be thrilled and can save my skin from the harsh rubbing to which I subject it every evening.

Leeanni Eco 3-IN-1 Toner, Serum and Moisturiser

This is one product I'm not too excited about. Normally, multipurpose skin products don't work for me and end up breaking me out. Plus, toners and I never get along, no matter what. I am on a new skincare routine right now, so I have time to decide what to do with this.

Swatches

From left: Pixi Mesmerising Mineral Duo Apricot Glow; NYX Butter Lipstick. Unfortunately, these are in artificial light, indoors with flash. Everything is a tad redder/rosier in real life.

Verdict

I like the makeup I got. The Pixi duo is particularly loved, as also the Crown brush. Some people got eye gels; I would have loved me some instead of half an ounce of toner-serum-moisturiser, which was the one product I didn't like. But you can't have it all the way you want, I suppose. On the bright side, there is no black eyeliner pencil or random hair styling spray sample, both of which have plagued me in beauty boxes recently.
The April bag is expected to have a long-awaited product for me - an eyeshadow from theBalm's N*de'Dude palette, which I have lusted after for a couple of months. I can't wait for April; it's my birthday month and I'm expecting some nice makeup goodies.
