LookFantastic Beauty Box May 2016

LookFantastic's May 2016 edition is themed #LFHelloBeautiful. Last month, they released spoilers that this box would contain body and hair products - the April box was supposed to be au naturel face care but contained mostly bath and body products. The product magazine says this month's products will give you a flawless and radiant complexion. A copy of this month's issue of Elle UK is included with the exclusively-designed green box.

One FULL-SIZED Wet Brush. Worth £11.99.

I have three full-sized Wet Brushes, three "squirt" sizes and two combs. The Wet Brush has knocked all other detangling brushes and combs out of the park. While virulent orange and yellow don't really appeal to my sombre colour-sense, I'll take any kind of Wet Brush, thanks!

One seven-day set of IOMA Optimum Moisture Cream

IOMA makes these cute travel pods. They have full week kits with cleanser, eye cream and skincare. I got one with day and night creams - these are infused with soya and cotton oil. Going into my travel bag.

REN Wake Wonderful Night-Time Facial

An overnight exfoliating treatment with lactic and glycolic acids, cranberry and artic blackcurrant seed extracts, magnesium, glycogen, omega oils and sodium lactate. You apply this overnight and wake up with fading flaws. I love all the REN products I've tried so far; this will go on one weekend as part of my night-time routine.

Eve Lom Wash Cloth and Cleanser sample

I have used the cleanser before and love it as a one-step remover that eliminates even waterproof mascara. As for the cleansing cloth, now that I've begun using damp cloth to remove cleanser, I can never have enough of them. While Eve Lom's version is basic muslin, I can still use it to remove milky and creamy cleansers. Clay and oil cleansers will need proper flannel.

UniqOne All-in-one Hair Treatment

I have used this before, from a Glam Guru box, and loved the coconut smell. It is a lightweight, hydrating spray that does not make my hair greasy.

Decleor Hydra Floral Gel Cream

The 70% water-base delivers intense hydration without greasing up the skin. It also protects the skin from pollution, which makes it ideal for morning use. I have become a Decleor fan this year and will incorporate this in my newly minted skincare routine over the coming days.

Vichy Liftactiv Supreme

A paraben-free moisturiser that contains rhamnose, which increases cellular turnover. Goes off to join the queue in my stash.

Verdict and how to subscribe

That full-sized Wet Brush alone does it for me. And I love that there's Ren and Decleor, two skincare brands I love. I'm going to try out the IOMA this week. True, this box does not contain makeup, but I've stopped expecting any and see these as skincare/bath and body boxes. I hope future boxes are just as good, and don't contain supplements or product repetitions.
LookFantastic Beauty Boxes cost £15 a month but long-term subscriptions cost £11.25 a month, which is a very decent deal, given that the Wet Brush by itself costs more than that. Go here to subscribe - they ship worldwide tracked free!
