Best beauty and makeup product discoveries from 2013 Jan to June

Favourite products - Jan to June 2013

My Beauty Junction went live on 15 January 2013. Over the last six months, I have enjoyed beauty blogging and discovering some amazing products - both makeup and skin care. Quite a few of these have now become an essential part of my routine. Others are favourite indulgences. Here's the list along with links to my detailed reviews:

1. TheBalm N*de'Tude palette: My favourite neutral palette - far more versatile than both UDN*keds. See post here.
2. Rimmel Apocalips Celestial: See post and swatches here.
3. Benefit How To Look The Best At Everything: I haven't reviewed this yet as I bought it only in early June, but it is much-loved now.
4. Lancome Genefique Yeux Light Pearl: Now my Holy Grail eye care. See review here.
5. China Glaze Prism: Opaque glitter heaven. See post here.
6. O.P.I. Just Spotted The Lizard: A dupe for Chanel Peridot, but an amazing polish!
7. Bourjois Flower Perfection Primer: Excellent drugstore choice. See post here.
8. Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub: Solely altered the state of my lips from March. See review here.
9. Rimmel Shadow Quad in State Of Grace: I love my larger palettes, and blue is a favourite shade for my eyes. But this quad is nice to pack for a weekend. See an EOTD here.
10. Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes Mascara: The only mascara that makes me look like I have lashes. See review and photos here.
11. Tangle Teezer and Tangle Tamer: Remind me how I ever combed my hair without these? See post here.
12. The Body Shop Rainforest Shine Shampoo: Leading the sulphate-free pack. See post here.
13. Original Beauty Blender Pro: Oooooooooooh! Oh right, you can read my drool-fest, so I'll refrain from another one now. See detailed review here.
14. Bourjois Delice de Soleil Bronzing Powder: I am not a blush person, and this bronzer is my all-time favourite.
15. Dirty Works Body Lotion: Using this only since June. It is ideal for warmer months because of how light it is. Not yet reviewed.
16. TheBalm Sexy Mama Anti-Shine Powder: Read review here.
17. Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover: Another Holy Grail discovery. See review here.
18. Burt's Bees Deep Cleansing Cream: I got this in a kit in December and forgot its existence till June. I've almost finished the tiny tube and am going to ask Tshering to get it from Sephora for me asap!
19. TheBalm Balm Jovi palette: I'm not even going to TRY to describe the zenith of makeup manufacturing. Will share photos soon.
20. Lancome Tresor Midnight Rose Eau de Parfum: Singlehandedly dumped Midnight Poison and J'Adore as my night favourites.
21. Lancome La Laque Fever in Woody Rose Satin: See review here.
I'm looking forward to my next round of discoveries. What are your favourite products over the last six months?

  1. I've only 2 items from your entire list! which is bad for my pocket cuz I just added many new things to my wish list lol! really wna try out the burt's bee cleanser after hearing so much about it from you! Just hope they have stocked it (:

    1. Just sent you a message about it, hehe :D Hopefully they'll have it and I can repurchase. I'm almost done with the 20g :(

  2. I have the Nude Tude palette. I love it. I agree it is more versatile than the Naked Palettes. Lovely blog. Now following. :)

    1. Whew, very few people agree with me - but then they haven't used Nude Tude! UD's issue is that the shades are more or less in the same family, whereas these are quite spread out neutrals.

  3. amazing list.. bookmarking this!

many products are going to my wishlist & gonna try them one by one :)

    1. Weren't you on a ban? ;)

  4. I don't have anything from your list! have to get Nude Tude and Balm Jovi

    1. Yes, you need them! I can't even decide which is better than the other.

  5. Congrates on 6 months blogging 😊 wish you many more years of successful blogging . And I love the list , they all seems to be a must have for a beauty and makeup enthusiast

    1. Thank you *hugs* And to think there isn't a single foundation or eyeliner on that list (I used to be a foundation-liner-only person).

    2. 6 months is great sweetie! You have been so successful and popular well done!
I have to try some of those things - like I have to! Haha, I have heard good things about the beauty blender but have been wondering if I should try it or not as I'm not very into foundation..?
I have to say though, this blog is absolutely amazing. Like it was the first beauty blog that I started to read and then when we started talking I was so happy! It is fab and you work so hard on it and deserve every follower and lovely comment!
Will always love you and your blog and I'm exited for all the lovely posts to read in the future!
See you later and I hope that your summer is going great!

    3. Cait, thanks so much! The Blender works best with foundation; I haven't tried it with BB creams or tinted moisturiser :( Maybe try a dupe first and see if you can get good use out of it first? Thank you for the kind remarks! I'm so chuffed you like my blog! I remember starting out and talking to you and a couple of others; those were the good old days and I must say it was a lot more fun to blog then. I've been buried under paperwork to post, or even to approve and reply to comments as frequently as I would like, but hopefully there will be more time in August. Looking forward to reading more about your holiday and summer xxxx

  6. Great Post Dear :) - I simply adore the Lush bubblegum lip scrub <3

    1. It's so delicious! And works very well!

  7. awesome post and now I need to read all the reviews you done in past :D D: best of luck dear and many more milestones :D :D

  8. wow!! 21 products :) I need to try all of these but not it six months!!! maybe product a month! whatsay??
I liked Lush Lipscrub in Bubblegum.Unfortunately I lost it when I made a mistake of taking it with me to my native (read evil cousins!) since then sticking to diy lip scrubs :) TheBalm NudeTude is my wishlist since long! Even I beleive they re more versatile than both UDNaked products.
