Birthday Beauty Haul 2016

It was my birthday yesterday. Despite having made up my mind - and convinced family and friends - to avoid cake this year, the lovely chef at Le Meridien MADE one very quickly once he found out what was going on, and I cut it at 10:30p.m. with complete strangers joining in. Sadly, I only have iPhone photos from the celebrations. Will show you my purple EOTD once I'm energetic enough to resize those photos.

Scroll down to check out the beauty products to which I treated myself this year.

My beauty haul was small and foundation/BB cream/face-centric. I have not been wowed by any palettes this year - and Too Faced Peach sells out before they put it up for sale - so far except Tom Ford Honeymoon, which I will buy during the Selfridges Summer Sales, along with a couple of lippies. I also have some Morphe brushes on the way. Slow postal services - hopefully the brushes will arrive before Christmas.
Here are the the beauty products to which I treated myself for my birthday this year.

The BareMinerals palette is a smidgen too dark for me. I'll have to use them as bronzers or mix with paler powders. The "DNA" test tube and the box on the extreme right are a tinted moisturiser and a cleanser that came free with it. The third face makeup set here is Laura Mercier's Tinted Moisturiser and Primer. I also have Cover FX's Mattifying Primer and BB Gel - the latter has better coverage than many foundations. Finally, there's By Terry's Terrybly Densiliss Compact, which I wanted for the design. The shade is Toasted Vanilla, which is perfect on me. The two skincare products I bought are Holika Holika Honey Sleeping Pack and The Cool Fix Lip and Brow Formula.
I also treated myself to these pumps from Harrods. Nothing fancy, but I fell for these while browsing. Boring Serious enough to please me, but with some pattern happening.

I cannot - and don't want to - remember a birthday without my Dad's traditional gift, usually earrings. Apparently, he grumbled to Mum about finding different patterns each year, which was probably his way of calling me old. This year's version:
White gold 18k 0.71ct diamond and blue sapphire earrings

I'm off with my besties to see The Jungle Book over the weekend. Speak to you next week!
