Space NK The Party Piece Christmas Crackers GWP 2018 Available Worldwide

Space NK's Holiday 2018 Gift With Purchase is here - the Party Piece - and it is worth more than £500! Like last year's Holiday GWP, this one is also in the form of 12 lovely Christmas crackers, and there is a Space NK Gift Card, like last year!
You can view last year's Party Piece Christmas Crackers set here
Unlike last year's 26 products, this year's GWP has a whopping 31 freebies - in addition to the gift card. Last year, the purchase threshold to be eligible for the GWP was £250. This year, it is £300.
You can open each cracker on every other day during Advent, or keep these for the 12 days of Christmas, right up to Epiphany! Or, like me, rip 'em up the moment they arrive.
This gift is entirely yours for free with purchase of products worth £300 from Space NK - both online and in-store. Use code PARTY18 at checkout, and it is added to your cart. The GWP ships worldwide; some items inside may not be allowed on air; those will be replaced by other products of similar value.

Beauty Products Emptied in December 2015 + Link-up

Four more days for the year to end. It has been a decent year for me - I hope 2016 is a happy and memorable year for all of us.
One of my beauty resolutions for 2016 is to be diligent about using up more makeup, and also to moisturise every day. I tend to skive off on "those" days, and a course of tetracycline (for acne) has left my elbows feeling dry. Another one is to work on getting rid of my acne and - this is the most important one - to arrive at a face care routine that does not break me out. You can see a bunch of anti-acne products among my empties here. Did they work? Find out.

Scroll down for the beauty products I used up in December 2015 and my thoughts on each.

EOTD: Cinnamon matte smoky eye makeup look

EOTD: Cinnamon matte smoky eye makeup look
EOTD: Cinnamon matte smoky eye makeup look
I love the colour, smell and taste of cinnamon. Neutral eyeshadows can get a little monotonous on darker eyes and skin after a while, but I like the look of cinnamon; it isn't as meh. I've been hunting for a cinnamon-colour eyeshadow for a while. Most of them, despite being named appropriately, are either too brick or too brown in colour. I finally zeroed in on a cinnamon brown eyeshadow from the Accessorize Lovely Day palette - how versatile is that palette and why isn't it better-known?

Here's my matte cinnamon smoky eye makeup look and how I achieved it.

EOTD: Simple neutral smoky eye makeup look with Accessorize eyeshadows

I haven't quite done an actual neutral smoky eye makeup look so far, favouring other colour combinations to make my EOTDs more interesting. Simple neutral smoky eye makeup look with Accessorize eyeshadowsBut having brought along only the Accessorize Lovely Day 32-eyeshadow palette on my trip, I had limited options and could use the blues, the greens or the purples only with some of the outfits I had packed. And, it gets dark here very quickly, by the time I want to go out in the late afternoons or evenings, so I haven't got hold of the natural light soon enough to photograph my eye looks. I've also been avoiding heavy eye makeup, since I prefer going makeup shopping with a comparatively bare face, for obvious reasons.
This is a simple neutral smoky eye makeup look I've done with the matte black eyeshadow, a rusty gold sparkle eyeshadow and a basic pale gold shimmer.

Accessorize Flawlessly Smooth Primer review, swatch, photos

Accessorize Flawlessly Smooth Primer review, photos, swatch
I went in for the Accessorize Flawlessly Smooth Primer because I love Accessorize. Their eyeshadow palettes are really good - I compare them to Sleek in terms of quality, and you get 32 colours per palette for a lower price. You can see reviews and swatches of Accessorize Exposed and other palettes here.
Being a drugstore brand, the Accessorize Flawlessly Smooth Primer costs less than Benefit Porefessional, Make Up For Ever All Mat, theBalm's Time Balm and even Bourjois Flower Perfection Primer (click on each link for reviews). For me, the main purposes of a primer are oil control or mattifying and smoothing out the skin. There are primers out there that hydrate, even out skin tone and so on, but my reasons for using primer are as above.

Who doesn't love Accessorize? Kill-joys? Anyway, I picked up a notebook, a room freshener and a pair of spacious handbags which I love. Looky!

New in stash: Swatches and review of Accessorize Exposed palette

The Accessorize Exposed palette had been on my wishlist for a while and I finally got my hands on it today. Like the You Are Everything and Lovely Day palettes from Accessorize, Exposed has cute packaging and 32 shadows.
The shadows are all variants of neutral shades, making this a must-have for anyone who likes eyeshadow. You can do quite a few looks with this; there are around half a dozen matte eyeshadows, and the others are shimmery, glittery or pearly. The best part is that they've chosen enough shades for the crease, lid and inner corner;

EOTD: Pink and fuchsia eyes with Accessorize eyeshadow palettes

Fuchsia and pink aren't usually seen anywhere around my eyes, but they can lift up your spirits no end! I used the Accessorize You Are Everything palette for this look. I haven't been tweezing my eyebrows for a couple of months now as I'm growing them out. So be prepared for hairy brow-bones.

TheBalm S3xy Mama Translucent Powder

Despite being a huge fan of TheBalm, I had never owned S3xy Mama, Hot Mama (blush) or Bahama Mama (bronzer) until I got this for my birthday in April. S3xy Mama Anti-shine Translucent Powder has become my HG mattifying powder.
Packaging: I can't tell you how much I love TheBalm's packaging, and this is no exception. This comes in a cute retro cardboard case with a mirror.
While googling it, I found some of the pictures online slightly different - the logo below the compact being a bit off centre scared me so I shot off an email with half a dozen photos to TheBalm. Christina from TheBalm got back to me almost at once. She instituted inquiries - at first it looked dodgy, and I was gutted, but she got back last week saying it is absolutely genuine! There are batches with off-centre logos and the code at the back proved it belonged to said batch. Whew.
