Shatter manicure: Barry M Croc Effect Nails 323

Yellow and black shatter manicure with Barry M Croc Effect Nails 323
Yellow is a colour I can never pull off, be it on my nails, eyes, lips or outfit. Possibly because my skin has yellow undertones - using the shade always makes me look ill.
The only way I can pull off yellow on my nails is if I cover it up almost completely, so that very little of the shade peeps through - and that is why shatter polish is the best solution. The only yellow polish I own is the Bourjois So Laque Ultra Shine in 39 Jaune Trendy.
I picked up Barry M. Croc Effect from Boots Dubai - they have a nice collection of Barry M polishes, lipsticks and other makeup. They had two shades in this range - 323, which is black, and 343, which is red.

More photos and thoughts on the Barry M Croc Effect polish in 323 below.

Manicure: Blue textured leopard print nail art with Sally Hansen Sugar Coat nail polish

Manicure: Blue textured leopard print nail art with Sally Hansen Sugar Coat nail polish
I finally bit the textured nail polish bait. Truth be told, I wasn't impressed by the Barry M textured nail polishes one bit. After trying my fair share of the polishes that separated into gritty and watery parts, I was prepared to dislike all textured polishes for life until I came across the Sugar Coat nail polishes in the Sally Hansen counter. An O.P.I. snob for most part, I love Sally Hansen's base coats, but had not really tried their nail polishes.
The moment I swatched the Sugar Coat nail polishes, I changed my mind, picking up a few of the shades. These are even, like concrete but not gritty and give you great opacity with a thin coat and do not separate into grit and liquid. And the texture shows up (feels up?) only once the polish dries, so you can apply it just like a normal nail polish.

Here is a blue textured leopard print nail art with Sally Hansen Sugar Coat nail polishes and more on the Sugar Coats.

Barry M TMLP green lipstick review, swatches, photos

Barry M Touch of magic lip pain green lipstick review, swatches, photos
The bright green colour caught my eye first in the aisle at Boots. A balm, I thought. But it was among the lipsticks. Perhaps for a Christmas party joke? Curious to know how green lipstick would look on my skin, I pulled it out of the shelf and gave a good swatch. Nothing. A balm, I decided, walking away to Bourjois.
A couple of minutes later, I reached out to swatch the Erasable Liner and got the shock of my life.

Here's the review and swatches of the green Barry M Touch of Magic Lip Paint (TMLP).

Nail polish haul and swatches: O.P.I., Ciate, Models Own, Barry M. and Lancome

Nail polish haul and swatches: O.P.I., Ciate, Models Own, Barry M. and Lancome
I wanted this to be a nail polish and nail art blog. But somewhere along the line, my love of other products seeped in. If I had to choose between a polish and a palette, I'd go for the nails each time.
Twenty-six. That's the number of nail polishes I hauled on my December holiday. Across brands. And I'm not counting nail art pens, nail wheels, buffs and other tools. I picked some beauties from O.P.I., Ciate, Models Own, Barry M. and LancĂ´me.

Here are the nail polishes and the swatches.
