Year-End Sephora and Boots Haul

T his haul is smaller - and less exciting - than my usual hauls. I am working on shrinking my need-list instead of going overboard in-store, and that I picked up just the four makeup products from Sephora is proof. I have since discovered that I am 15 points away from my next premium gift. A lip balm would have seen me through to the next tier. Argh!

Scroll down to find out what I bought in my last beauty haul of 2016.

Beauty Products Emptied in July 2016 + Link-up

When you have a 10-step skincare routine - see here for the steps - and moisturise all over, two times a day, chances are that your empties will mostly be skincare. July's empties are no exception.

Scroll down for the beauty products I used up in July 2016, and my quick impressions of each.

Mid-year Makeup Haul from Selfridges, Boots, Sephora Italy and more

Mid-year Makeup Haul from Selfridges, Boots, Sephora Italy and more

Two lessons I learnt last month:
  1. The time you spend away from your stash is directly proportionate to the quantity of makeup you buy. The longer your trip, the more you buy.
  2. The quantity of makeup you pack on a trip (see what I packed here) is inversely proportionate to the quantity of makeup you buy. So the less you pack, the more you will buy.
Call them Cosmetopia's Universal Makeup Haul Laws.
I swear I did not mean to buy so much. In fact, I believed most of my shopping was completed after one trip to Oxford St. and two to Boots (four palettes, four foundations and nine lipsticks).
But Sephora in Rome had a whopping 20% flat discount sale for three days. The equivalent of the VIB sale - my bill only came up to three digits. What makeup addict would not want to plunge in?
To top it all, many high-end makeup brands are cheaper in Europe than elsewhere...

Here is my mid-year makeup haul - excluding hair/skincare and nail polish - from the UK and Europe.

Six cooling drugstore foot treatments for Spring/Summer

Six drugstore options to keep your feet cool this Spring/Summer.
Six cooling drugstore foot treatments for Spring/Summer

So I have feet that feel uncomfortably hot, especially in the night, and are extremely dry and warm all day. I get up many times to reapply foot lotion because they are burning hot, despite the room temperature set at 17C. No, it's not hormonal, it is there all the time and I have inherited it. And it ruins my already non-existent sleep.
This Spring/Summer, I am determined to break the pattern, keep my feet cool and hydrated at all times and get some decent sleep. I have stalked the drugstore aisles - offline and online - to come up with six products that are keeping my feet from boiling up.

More on the drugstore foot care products I reach for to keep my feet cool and hydrated:
