GRWM: Summer Night Makeup Look With Givenchy

It has been a while since I did a full-face makeup look or tutorial. A bad breakout - as usual - was the reason. Now that things are slowly clearing up, I've been playing with makeup again.
My YouTube and Instagram followers may have seen my first haul of the year, from Sephora, a couple of months ago. I bought quite a bit of Givenchy makeup, including my first cream eyeshadow - a gorgeous purpley black affair. These are the products I used for my makeup look.
This is a purpley-black smoky eye makeup look for Summer nights out.

Beauty Products Used Up in December 2017

Heigh ho. 2018 is here. It's been a mixed year for me, with the first half being really nice. I got over acne and started scar revision. I got back on YouTube. But then I was laid up with allergies from October, Dad got bitten by a snake, and Gramps's horrible disease (I don't even want to say the c-word) has reared its ugly head again. It makes me weep to think about Gramps.
For 2018, I only wish for good health and happiness for all my loved ones and readers. That's the most important thing.

Scroll down to see the beauty products I used up in December 2017, and for my quick thoughts on each.

LookFantastic Beauty Box August 2015 review

August 2015 marks LookFantastic's 17th birthday, so they had promised to deliver a great box - not to mention fabulous deals all month. For the uninitiated, LookFantastic is a UK-based beauty retailer who ships worldwide. Boxes cost £15 a month and annual subs will get you a box for a mere £9.
LookFantastic Beauty Box August 2015 review, unboxing
LookFantastic's beauty subscription was launched last September. They began beautifully and then went meh for a while, so I have been hoping they resume their former glory. Scroll down to find out if they did.

Rimmel Provocalips 16hr Lip Colour review, swatches

Rimmel Provocalips 16hr Lip Colour review, swatches

Ever since Rouge Double Intensite Lip Color in shade Rose Garnet, swatched here, was chucked out of Chanel's inventory last Fall, I have been hunting for an all-day lipstick in a subtle-enough shade. I have shade issues with MUFE Aqua Rouge (what part of subtle dusty rose is so difficult to understand?), flaking issues with Max Factor Lipfinity, CoverGirl Outlast, Revlon Colorstay Ultimate, Maybelline 16hr Superstay and, worst of all, MAC ProLongwear, the metallic tint in Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Lip Duo, and a host of other problems with similar liquid formulae. I was thrilled to find that Rimmel was coming out with Provocalips, which they claim is the more advanced, transfer-proof and long-wearing version of last year's Apocalips (Show Off in the US), which I have reviewed here. While I did like Apocalips, it did not have even half the staying power I am used to - I want a lipstick to last the whole day, so I can forget all about it and concentrate on whatever I am doing.

There are eight shades in Rimmel's Provocalips range, which launched on October 6 this year. Each costs £6.99. The shades include very subtle neutrals, pretty pinks, a classic red and a vampy berry. Rimmel Provocalips is now my favourite drugstore lip colour range. And two of these shades are perfect for me.

Read on for my review of Rimmel Provocalips 16hr Lip Colours.

Mid-year makeup wishlist for 2014

Mid-year makeup wishlist for 2014 My Beauty Junction
Half the year is over already! It seems like only yesterday that I was building this blog. I had begun this blog mainly to keep an eye on my growing stash and to restrict myself from buying things left, right and centre. How has that worked out so far? Ermmm... not very well. But, I can tell you two things:
  1. I have not bought any products just to blog about. Whatever I have bought was purchased after much wanting, with every intention of using. Some products have let me down in terms of colour because of weird store lighting, though.
  2. I used to have monthly wishlists, remember? Now I only have a wishlist quarterly, but it contains only half a dozen products, so I combine them into half-yearly wishlists. It is a start!

Here is a bit more about each makeup product on my mid-2014 wishlist.
