Plum-pink EOTD with Sleek Vintage Romance palette

Pink EOTD with Sleek Vintage Romance palette
The south-west monsoons, from June to September, have started, which means "natural light" will be dark, grey and cloudy for the next few months, except for the odd, lucky moment. And I live on the coast, where the rains strike first and strike hard. And, it speaks volumes for my inability to write a good intro when I have to rely on the weather as a topic. So much for wanting to write thriller fiction about illegal organ harvesting and weapon-smuggling. Ah well.
Pink EOTD with Sleek Vintage Romance paletteWhile I love my Too Faced, theBalm, UD and Sephora palettes, I keep returning to Sleek palettes frequently, for the amazing quality and range of colours and the price. My all-time favourite Sleek iDivine palette is probably Vintage Romance, which I reviewed and swatched here. The colours in this palette are so "me", if you get my drift. And, as I told you a couple of weeks ago, I now prefer eye makeup that accentuates a single eyeshadow and this is no exception.

Today's eye makeup look features the Sleek iDivine eyeshadow palette in Vintage Romance.

Orange eye makeup with Sleek Sunset palette

Orange eye makeup with Sleek Sunset palette
I am absolutely loving orange eyeshadow right now. And orange nail polish, orange blush and, orange lipstick/tint. Orange anything - except for clothing; I'll stick to my sombre, deeper, older-looking colours, thank you!
Orange eye makeup with Sleek Sunset palette
The Sleek iDivine Sunset Eyeshadow palette, reviewed and swatched here, gets a lot of love from me because of the fun orange, rosy, maroon and rust-gold colours. But don't be turned off by all the orange and gold goodness - these are not garish on the skin, and, with a light-enough hand, they will make your eyes pop.

Here is an orange eye makeup look with the Sleek Sunset eyeshadow palette.

EOTD: Smoky eye makeup with Sleek iDivine Sunset Eyeshadow Palette

EOTD: Smoky eye makeup with Sleek iDivine Sunset Eyeshadow Palette
EOTD: Smoky eye makeup with Sleek iDivine Sunset Eyeshadow PaletteArgh, I look like Morgan Le Fay. I'm never pulling this stunt again! Right, I'll tell you what happened.
It had been a while since I pulled out the Sleek iDivine Sunset Eyeshadow Palette, swatched and reviewed here. So I thought I would give it a go and took it with me at the last minute.
And, since I thought I was ready to do an out-and-out smoky eye makeup look, I decided to use three eyeshadows, including black, and make it dark and sultry. I've ended up looking exactly how I imagine Morgan Le Fay would look.

EOTD: Blue smoky eye makeup with Sleek Candy Collection shadows

EOTD: Blue smoky eye makeup with Sleek Candy Collection shadows
I wanted to try another smoky EOTD with the Sleek iDivine Candy Collection eyeshadow palette before moving on to other palettes, and, this time, I picked blue. This EOTD was done with the Beautyblender Detailers makeup brush set. I decided to stick with blue and not to add a black or darker colour to the crease and over-smoke it up, since the idea was to restrict myself to two shades from the same colour-family. So it's just a darker and a lighter-and-more-teal blue.

Here are the shades from the Sleek Candy Collection palette I used for the blue smoky eye look:

EOTD: Smoky eye makeup with Sleek Candy Collection palette

Happy Thanksgiving! Here's an EOTD with some sweet shadows for this day. The Sleek iDivine Candy Collection palette (swatched and reviewed here) contains some very versatile eyeshadows that will have you hopping out of your comfort zone and trying on some unlikely combinations that actually work! I shook my head over quite a few of these candylicious shades but soon realised that the Sleek Makeup people knew what they were doing when they chose the 12 shades.

Here is a smoky eye makeup look I've done with the Candy Collection palette. The eyeshadows I used are:

Purple smoky eye EOTD look with Sleek Vintage Romance palette
After my first smoky eye look (here), I've been trying to push myself further out of my comfort zone. Here is a purple smoke eye look I've done with the Sleek iDivine Vintage Romance Eyeshadow Palette (swatched and reviewed here).

Sleek iDivine Candy Collection Eyeshadow Palette swatches, review, photos

Swatches and review of Sleek iDivine Candy Collection eyeshadow palette
It was only after yesterday's post of the Vintage Romance eyeshadow palette (here) that I realised that I hadn't posted my take on the lovely iDivine Candy Collection Limited Edition Eyeshadow Palette from Sleek MakeUP. This was released alongside some pretty blushes and a pout paint (named Lol-Lip-Pop) as part of the Candy Collection this summer. I know I'm really behind in swatching these shadows but good makeup is timeless. So is vintage candy, as you will find out below, and the connection with some iconic sweets is what makes this palette a collectors' item for me.

Sleek iDivine Vintage Romance Eyeshadow Palette review, swatches, photos

Sleek iDivine Vintage Romance Eyeshadow Palette review and swatches
The moment I heard that Sleek Makeup was releasing a limited edition iDivine eyeshadow palette called "Vintage Romance", I knew I would love it, just as I love all things vintage. The teasers I saw online served to strengthen my resolve to get it. As in all iDivine palettes, there are 12 eyeshadows in Vintage Romance as well. And, unlike some of the iDivine palettes, these eyeshadow shades have names - romantic names at that.

What's inside my second giveaway win

I usually have rotten luck in giveaways, prize draws, raffles and contests, unless they're essay writing, recitation, elocution, quizzing or debate (nerd-alert). However, the beauty blogging world has been somewhat kinder in that I've won two giveaways in the last six months - long may this phase last!

EOTD: Orange and rose gold eyes with Sleek Sunset palette

Orange and rose gold eyes with Sleek Sunset palette
I've been playing around with the Sleek iDivine Sunset palette (see detailed post and swatches here) and came up with this. I've used the black shadow as a rather light liner, gone easy on the lower lashline and applied Rimmel Glam Eyes Day 2 Night mascara. Primer used was Put A Lid On It. Caveats: Brows not filled; bangs unclipped, lashes uncurled.

Why did they change the lovely waffle pattern of Sleek eyeshadow palettes? I preferred the waffle!
But that doesn't take away from these stunning shades in the Sleek iDivine Sunset Eyeshadow palette. Look at them! I can't wait to do EOTDs with these combos. As the name implies, the Sunset palette has oranges and lemons (juvenile pun intended), reds and rusts. And a blue and a black.

Huge haul: Sleek, Benefit, MUA, Soap & Glory, Dirty Works....

Recently I came across a group called Order Makeup UK that would get UK and US brands delivered at home without all the customs-dangerous-goods-duty-lost-in-post headaches. I gave them a list of brands whose pricelists I wanted, and they actually managed to get me Dirty Works - I didn't know Dirty Works even sold outside Sainsbury's!
