Mid-Year Makeup Giveaway 2018: Open Worldwide

As promised, my mid-year makeup giveaway is on - it is open to my YouTube and email subscribers.
The giveaway is open worldwide, as usual, and closes on July 15, 2018.
The winner - one person - gets an assortment of 12 makeup products. Winners WILL only be chosen by the Gleam widget at random - NOT by me, thanks very much!
As usual, comments containing profanity, rudeness, racism, hyper-links, promos of MLM, entreaties to pick you as a winner, and so on, will not be published.
Enough. Off you go; look at the prizes, rules, and entry form.

Ipsy Glam Bag December 2015 Review

Thanks to the Holiday backlog, I received my December 2015 Ipsy bag late. Even so, if the contents are great, it is always worth the wait.
Poor rhyming skills aside, the December 2015 bag was themed "With Love From Ipsy" - almost making you think the bag was free. The bag itself is red and vinyl. I like the shape, though not the uber-vinyl finish.

Tarte Stroke of Midnight Brush Set for Holiday 2015 Review

I wanted something from the Tarte Holiday 2015 collection because of the sequinned packaging, but not much remained except for the limited edition Stroke of Midnight Brush Set and Travel Case.
The sequinned travel case is spacious and ideal for holding makeup brushes or for jars or bottles of skincare and liquid foundation and other makeup securely during air or road travel. They certainly have paid a lot of attention to detail when it comes to the packaging, even the external box. There are five makeup brushes in this set.

Ipsy Glam Bag July 2015 review

Guess what I got in my July Ipsy bag?

Ipsy Glam Bag July 2015 review

The July 2015 Ipsy Glam Bag is themed "Summer Lovin'" and the bag itself is bright and fun. I'm glad it is canvas and not vinyl.
I had good self-control this time and did not seek out spoilers on the internet, mostly because of time constraints, so I certainly did not know what to expect from this bag! All I guessed was that the bag would have something to do with summer. But one product in the bag made me light up...

Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Powder Foundation review, swatches, FOTD

Full coverage matte loose powder foundation for oily skin.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Powder Foundation review, swatches, FOTD

Since my face produces enough oil to make me a prime target for greedy, aspiring oil barons, I prefer powder foundation over liquid, especially when my acne is relatively subdued. First of all, powder foundation is quicker in the mornings; no need to bother with setting powder. Secondly, touch-ups are going to be powder anyway, so might as well avoid the liquid part to begin with. Finally, powder masks oil better than liquid on my face and keeps me matte for longer. This way, I can avoid being identified - and therefore, apprehended/exterminated/abducted - by bounty-hunters appointed by said oil barons and oil-mad governments.
Full coverage, airbrush and powder/matte finish are magic words to me, so I just had to get the Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Powder Foundation, which promised a flawless, wrinkle-free and lasting finish.

Ipsy Glam Bag December 2014 review, unboxing

Ipsy Glam Bag December 2014 review, unboxing

My December 2014 Ipsy Glam Bag turned up a day after December was over, which is more than can be said of some beauty subscriptions. Possibly because of all the Holiday mail. I like the black and pink bag sent out this month; it will come in handy for packing a toothbrush, toothpaste and other toiletries that do not fit into my makeup bag while travelling.
The product card informs me that I am a "brave soul". While I wish I could have participated in a bayonet charge or cavalry charge in the 19th century, I'm sure that anyone who has seen my behaviour within a few metres of a lizard will disagree wholeheartedly with the product card's sentiment. There are three full-sized products in this bag.

Mid-year makeup haul from Sephora ME

A hundred years ago, on this very day, a series of events broke out that touched the lives of people in many, many countries - definitely throughout the British Empire. A moment of silence for those fallen in the Great War, please. My family and I are marking this by visiting two memorials - one here, and one in my Gramps's hometown - with flowers (see photo at the end of the post). On to lighter topics now.
Mid-year makeup haul from the ME: Sephora, Benefit, Givenchy, YSL
Have you noticed the near-absence of haul posts on this blog recently? Blame Memebox for it. On the other hand, Memeboxes may come and Korean products may go, but Sephora goes on forever. I managed to find time despite a super-hectic schedule - which included football-watching - to pick up a few things from Sephora Dubai, Boots, Al Shop (I know, right), Bloomingdales, Pari Gallery, Karisma and a couple of random stores whose names I don't even remember. Here is what I bought during my trip, except for drugstore products and a couple of items missing in the depths of my suitcases. I tend to be a super-organised packer but disorganised when it comes to unpacking. Some of these are a bit squashed, as a result, but no real damage, thankfully.  You have seen the gifts with purchase and samples I received here, now take a look at the haul itself.
