Beauty Products Used Up in September 2017

I was going to do an Empties' video; unfortunately, my studio is still undergoing acoustic treatment. The good news is that there are results and the echo is definitely reduced, but the bad news is that all the acoustic foam and the panels are ruining my walls, although they haven't affected the lighting. So this one is a blog post.
Pity, that - I actually managed to use up quite a bit of makeup this month! I'm very proud of that; I now have a self-imposed scheme. For every 10 makeup products (the same applies to skincare) that I empty, I can buy ONE product. I hope this scheme will help curtail buying in 2018, and help me finish up more.

Beauty Empties For August 2017

I only managed to use up a handful of products in August 2017. It has been a distracting month all around. I hope September is more stable.
Among my empties for August 2017 is one of the best facial oils ever, and the best rosehip oil I've tried (out of three different brands). Not much by way of makeup in here, save for the one mini-sized item. You'll see it all below.

Beauty Products Emptied in May 2017

I'm due for Microneedling/Infini RF on Thursday and am understandably nervous after reading all about grid marks and months and months of downtime. A sudden onset of three new pimples has not helped. On the other hand, I read horror stories about subcision, and that wasn't a painful procedure, so I'm hoping this one will go as smoothly as well. Stay tuned for updates.
I've been "building up" my skin to withstand the aggressive procedure, with plenty of TLC. Here's what I used up.

Beauty Products Emptied in January 2016

For once, there is a makeup product among my empties. There is, as usual, much more skincare, but a lot of it was used in December rather than January. I am taking things slowly because of the staph outbreak and only use prescription products now but have been purging the harsher products from my cabinets and - hurrah - buying new skincare after careful examination of INCI lists and consultation with my derm. Will show you my haul posts once everything gets here.

Beauty Products Emptied in November 2015 + Link Up

How did you enjoy Black Friday weekend? Hauled much? What are you getting on Cyber Monday? I am on a makeup shopping ban until Boxing Day so I only managed to get some books as Christmas prezzies. I intend to treat myself to something nice on December 26 instead. Let's see if the new Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons palette appeals in swatches. Meanwhile...

Here are the beauty products I used up in November 2015 and my thoughts on each - and a link-up!

Six Drugstore Body Lotions for Summer

For silky-smooth skin.

Here are six drugstore body lotions that will keep your skin moisturised this Summer.

Slathering a body butter, cream or lotion all over yourself, twice daily, is the best way to acquire silky, soft skin. All-over moisturising two times a day has made a wealth of difference to my skin in six months flat, reducing the reptilian fish-scales to just one or two dry spots, on my elbows, knees and shin. To avoid those lazy "I'll just skip today" days, keep the bottles or jars in your shower and apply as soon as you towel-dry. That way, you will need less product and it will absorb faster.
This is the season when you really don't want heavy body butters on your skin. Lighter body lotions are the way to go when the weather is hot and humid.

Beauty products emptied in July 2014

Beauty products emptied in July 2014 and quick reviews
I have been on a road-trip since Thursday, which is why this blog has been inactive for the last few days. Part of the trip was nostalgic, going back to my Gramps's old home, while the other part was a bit of a nature-trek. It was very refreshing all around, even if it was a tad hectic. I now have to get through a backlog of comments.
I had travelled a bit in July, which accounts for the number of sample-sized empties. I only used up three full-sized tubs and/or tubes last month - a lip balm, a foot cream and a body butter.
I had also religiously applied one face mask and one hair mask per week. My hair is definitely less frizzy despite the rains, which means it was a good idea. Skin-wise, my face is definitely softer than I can remember, and my foundation is going on smoother, especially the morning after I use a face mask, so I will continue to concentrate on skin care through August. I also want to continue to get seven+ hours sleep each night, and an hour's exercise in every day. But some of those masks were quite awful, while others were great, as you will soon see.

Grace Cole Fruit Works Body Butter review

Grace Cole Fruit Works Body Butter review
If you have been reading my blog, you know that I have noticed ambiguity regarding parabens and animal testing on the labels of The Body Shop body butters and lotion. I have been looking for a cost-effective jar of body butter without parabens - and preferably against animal testing. I have Dirty Works, but of the two jars I have, one contains parabens and one does not. Ditto Soap & Glory.
In February, I came across the Grace Cole Body Butters. I bought just the one jar at first, but went back soon enough and picked up four, and with good reason.
These come in six fragrances - Coconut and Lime, Pineapple and Passionfruit, Peach and Pear, Strawberry and Kiwi, Passionfruit and Guava and Watermelon and Pink Grapefruit.

Here is my review of the Grace Cole Fruit Works Body Butters.
