Soft Neutral Makeup Look With Duochrome Eyeshadow

Some days ago, I had showed you a makeup look featuring the Makeup Geek Duochrome Eyeshadow in the shade Ritzy - see here. Here is another FOTD, with the shade Havoc. I cannot get enough of the Makeup Geek Duochrome Eyeshadows. I want them all! I have also discovered a fondness for Chantecaille - I picked up a couple of their lipsticks on last year's Boxing Day sales, and cannot get enough of them.
This look was done soon after I underwent my second round of subcision for scar-revision, so you can see a bunch of needle-entry points on my cheeks, especially the right cheek. Because of the procedure, I only used a CC cream and not a full-coverage foundation - also, the snail mucin in the CC cream helps my ravaged skin heal faster.

Scroll down for a soft-glowy makeup look I did using Makeup Geek Duochrome Eyeshadows, Chantecaille lipstick, By Terry Sun Designer Palette, and more.

Beautylish Lucky Bag 2017 Review, Unboxing, Contents

Meet the world's best beauty box. It comes out only once a year, on Boxing Day. I bought last year's Beautylish Lucky Bag, which you can see here, and fell in love with the concept.
Lucky Bags are popular in Japan around the New Year time - businesses distribute them, believing they will bring good luck to the recipients.
There is no actual bag - the contents of the Beautylish Lucky Bag come in a regular box with special wrapping paper. The owl, which Beautylish incorporates in the wrapping paper each year, is said to bring luck. Nils, who co-founded Beautylish, tells his staff to make each bag better than the previous years'.
The Lucky Bag costs $75, and international customers need to pay shipping as well. You cannot combine orders with the Lucky Bag. But the contents are worth a lot more - my own bag contains products worth a whopping $194, as you can see below.
Spoiler: There are NO eyeshadows in my Lucky Bag!

2015 Favourites: 10 Best Eyeshadow Palettes

Happy New Year's Eve! I am staying indoors for the first time in years because the breakout I thought was acne is actually an infection I caught after travelling to flood-infested areas three weeks ago. My GP did a swab and culture - I'm running a temperature and have withdrawn from public life for the next three weeks.
This was one of the most difficult posts of 2015 for me - narrowing down my favourite eyeshadow palettes of the year to just 10. I had to leave out some favourite staples such as Cargo Cosmetics Summer in the City and MUA Spring Break.

Scroll down for the list of my 10 favourite eyeshadow palettes for 2015.

Disclaimer: Favourites lists are entirely subjective. What may be an awesome product to one person may not work at all for another.

QVC Beauty Advent Calendar 2015 Review

If you have a bit of change to spare after your Cyber Monday shopping, why not indulge in or treat a friend to the QVC Beauty Advent Calendar?
The QVC Advent Calendar for 2015 was launched last month for $96.75. I was thrilled to receive it as a surprise present from my swap-partner Casey, who actually splurged on Priority Post so I would get it before Advent. It contains 24 beauty products from various brands including IT Cosmetics, Josie Maran, Mally Beauty and so on.
Since Advent begins tomorrow, there is no need to justify my refusal to wait - I have the whole thing unboxed here. DO NOT READ IF YOU DO NOT WANT SPOILERS.

IT Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Romantics Eye Palette Review, Swatches, EOTDs, Comparison With Vol. 1

Review and swatches of IT Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Matte Vol. 2 Romantics Palette for Fall 2015, eyeshadow makeup looks, and comparisons with Vol. 1.Here it is at last! Volume 2. If you remember the previous IT Cosmetics eyeshadow palettes (Reviewed here and here), they were named Vol. 1 and Celebration respectively, and I have been looking forward to a Vol. 2 ever since.
I did have my doubts about whether the shades in the Romantics palette would be too pale for me to pull off. I also wondered if the formula was the same - so many great brands have changed their eyeshadow formula for the worse.
And all those doubts have been laid to rest.

Fall 2015 Matte FOTD With IT Cosmetics Romantics Palette

Here is a matte makeup look for Fall 2015, with purple eyeshadow from the IT Cosmetics Romantics palette.

Matte is everywhere this Fall. I am delighted by the trend. My face is so oily that matte makeup turns dewy on me almost immediately, so I like using matte makeup unless I am spending the day in air-conditioning. Now that I have quite a bit of new makeup to play with (click to see mid-year makeup haul), here is an FOTD.
The moment the new IT Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Matte Vol. 2 Romantics palette launched, I knew I would buy it. Playing with it has been absolute fun, and this makeup look features my favourite shades from the palette. I am also wearing the mattest lipstick ever - a recent discovery from Italy.
