FOTD: Holiday Bold Lip Makeup Ft. Bourjois Air Mat Foundation, Estee Lauder Colour Portfolio

Dusty rose is the lip colour I reach for about 90 per cent of the time. The other 10 per cent, I reach for similar subtle neutrals, mauves or corals. I was flipping through my 2015 diary and saw the New Year Resolutions made last January - experimenting with bolder lipstick was on the list. A pity to let the year go by without trying it out, so I reached for a recent golden orange-red purchase.

Beauty Crowd Discover Box December 2015 Review

The review and contents of the inaugural Beauty Crowd Discover Box for December 2015. Nothing excites the beauty box junkie in me as much as the launch of a new beauty subscription. The latest arrival on the scene is the Beauty Crowd Discovery Box, featuring full-sized makeup from UK-based retailer Beauty Crowd. Saturated as we all are with all the mini hairsprays and toners, this is a welcome change.
I signed up for the inaugural version, which cost £15, with one promise to myself - if it contained a black pencil, I was out. The box sold out within a couple of days of its launch. Nothing surprising there - they had announced that this box would contain 10 full-sized makeup products.

Manicure: Ombre nail art with a compact sponge, Essie and China Glaze blue polishes

I've received a few queries asking whether ombre or gradient manicure could be done with a compact sponge.
I used a compact sponge for this manicure. My issue has been getting it to blend out - with the compact sponge you get clear linear demarcation and not much by way of texture. But I find I like this. It actually looks like five different stripes painted on and the colours haven't blended out into each other.

Manicure: Double dotticure nail art with NYX Sheer Shell polish

I celebrated the arrival of my first set of dotting tools with this mani. Some of you have mentioned that I only seem to use O.P.I. and China Glaze, so I decided to stay away from both this time and go in for NYX Sheer Shell.

Manicure: O.P.I. You Don't Know Jacques nail polish and LA Colors Goddess

O.P.I. You Don't Know Jacques nail polish swatch and review
It has been a while since I wore a taupe shade, and I love taupes. So this time it was O.P.I.'s You Don't Know Jacques. It is a lovely creme taupe. A mushroom-grey-brown mix, if you like. You'll have a hard time describing the shade. It even looks like it has a drop of purple in the photo with flash.
