You Need These Glass Nail Files From Mont Bleu

My first experience with a glass nail file was very short-lived and ended abruptly when I accidentally stepped on it - don't ask! The ensuing mess meant I had to buy new bedroom slippers, and I've never really found a pair as comfortable as my froggie pair. Thankfully, the file itself was plain.
This time around, the journey is far easier. For one, the nail files I'm showing you today are absolute beauties, so I'm more careful. Secondly, each Czech glass file comes in an individual slip-case. I've already dropped these a couple of times and they've held! Finally, these are so much kinder to my already-brittle nails than steel files.
Mont Bleu Files are made with the famous Bohemian glass, and are decorated with precious metals, handpainting, and Swarovski crystals. They are crafted in Prague with fine-tempered glass.

Mad Beauty Vintage Kellogg's Nail and Lip Care Products

Mad Beauty is a UK-based brand that specialises in making cosmetics fun. They have the cutest foot files, glosses, makeup brushes, pretty nail polishes, bags, lip balms, bath and body products and nail art supplies. Whatever I have tried so far is good quality, and the prices are reasonable.
I picked up a few of their products from Notting Hill way back last July, and thought I would show you their Kellogg's range first.

Haul: Nail buffers and cuticle sticks

I'm always misplacing my nail tools, so I decided to buy a few nail buffers and cuticle sticks and place them in every handbag. QVS stands for Quality Value Style and is based in Australia. Hope the tools hang around!

DIY: Make your own nail polish remover dipping bottle

You've seen the Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover (read review here) and some dupes - they made waves over the blogosphere when they came out and the Bourjois polish remover is my Holy Grail. I love it and will continue to buy it, but thought it would be fun to try making a homemade version. Here's how.

Warning: Graphic, repulsive photos (Why I haven't been doing manicures for a while)

Come back! I do not have a fungal infection.
My cute dolphin-head soap dish had broken and, being rather bored with a tummy upset, I decided to epoxy the soap dish together. Sadly - and predictably for me - I got a tube of araldite all over my fingers, part of my palms, even under my nails, all within seconds. It hardened and didn't budge even when I picked at it. We have tried Dettol, Vaseline, ice, iced water, nail polish remover without acetone, pure acetone, oil, sudocrem, a myriad moisturisers and turpentine and this is what it looks like now - only 5% remains. Earlier this week, it looked like I had thrush all over my hands, along with a bad allergic rash.
