LookFantastic Beauty Box January 2018 Unboxing, Review, Contents

A New Year means taking stock of everything, beauty box subscriptions included. I've decided to keep just the one subscription box this year, and it is the LookFantastic Beauty Box.
Why? For starters, it's just £12 or so per month, since I'm on a long-term subscription. For another, I don't pay upfront; only each month when the box ships out. For a third, there are some nice perks, such as a discount on the amazing Advent Calendar. Fourthly, on an average, the boxes are quite nice, and come with extras such as the Elle Magazine.
So let's take a look at LookFantastic's first beauty box for 2018. They've revamped the box design - a nice periwinkle blue and mint green combo. The product leaflet has also undergone a makeover.

Sephora Italia Card Programme, GWPs and Experience

Some weeks ago, I showed you my haul from Sephora Italy - see here - and said they gave me quite a few GWPs. Today, I am going to show you the gifts and samples and talk about their card programme.
I visited three different Sephora outlets in Rome. The largest store, near the Spanish Steps, spans three floors - the ground floor for makeup, the first floor for skincare and the mezzanine floor for hair care. My hotel was a two-minute-walk away from the Sephora at the Termini Station and I popped in every evening, to relax after a long day.
Believe it or not - makeup is cheaper in Europe than anywhere else. I expected a gargantuan four-digit bill and instead had to pay an amount for just three figures. Plus, I got my VAT back from Customs, so yay!

Beauty products used up in June/July 2015

Beauty products I used up in June and July 2015 and my quick thoughts on each.

Because I was travelling for the major part of the last two months, I decided to combine my empties. Also, I had to photograph products in batches, because there was no way of saving them or bringing them back home and wasting precious luggage space.
I have divided this month's empties into three parts, depending on what products finished at the same time. Some of these products were purchased from Europe and the UK while I had packed the others. Check out what I had packed here. During my trip, I discovered some amazing European brands, and the best conditioner ever - and sadly may never see it again. You will find the sorry tale further below.

Tess Giberson for Beauty.com 2014 Winter Forest Bag

Tess Giberson for Beauty.com 2014 Winter Forest Bag

I recently shopped from from Beauty.com and received a gift card, so there was an excuse to make a second haul! My haul post is coming up within a week or so - the fact is that I am receiving an early Christmas present in the form of a new camera, and have pretty much stopped taking photographs until then  - but meanwhile, you can take a look at an amazing GWP I received from Beauty.com.
The gifts at Beauty.com are not the odd perfume vial and foil sachet. Each GWP is a designer bag, exclusively from a recent collection, and the bag contains travel, deluxe and full-sized samples from top brands sold on Beauty.com. Recently, I got the Adam Selman for Beauty.com Baby Backpack as a GWP - check out the contents here.
I am thrilled to receive the Tess Giberson Winter Forest bag, the first Holiday 2014 GWP from Beauty.com - as you can see from the photo above, the functional makeup pouch is a looker, with the lovely tree silhouettes!

Check out the contents of the Tess Giberson for Beauty.com Winter Forest bag below.

Adam Selman for Beauty.com GWP Miss Baby Backpack, samples

Adam Selman for Beauty.com GWP Miss Baby Backpack, samples

Adam Selman for Beauty.com GWP Miss Baby Backpack, samplesWith all due respect to every department store around the world and every Sephora outlet there is, the fact is that Beauty.com has amazing gifts with purchases. Where are you going to get a gorgeous designer collaboration bag with some 15 deluxe samples? Sephora Dubai has a very generous card programme, as you can see here and here, but you need to watch out for the offers to turn up, and only Black Card (equivalent to Sephora USA's VIB) or Gold Card (VIB Rouge) owners are eligible for the best gifts. On the other hand, anyone buying from Beauty.com can avail of the generous GWPs they have.
These are not random vinyl pouches with a dozen sachets. I am talking about designer bags exclusively made for Beauty.com, by Richard Chai, Cynthia Rowley, Lela Rose, EDUN, Tess Giberson and others. Today's post features the Miss Baby backpack, which has a print from Adam Selman's Fall 2014 collection. Adam Selman, for the uninitiated, is Rihanna's costume designer.

Check out the Adam Selman Miss Baby Backpack and the deluxe beauty treats inside, further below.

Benefit They're Real Push-Up Eyeliner review

Benefit They're Real Push-Up Eyeliner review, swatches, photos
I was somewhat surprised to find that Sephora ME was giving out travel-sized samples of the Benefit They're Real Push-Up Eyeliner from the Benefit counter. I had expected sachets of The Porefessional, minis of They're Real mascara or That Gal, vials of perfume, even mini kits as gifts with purchase, but not something this recent.
I am someone who does not really mind any kind of black eyeliner, as long as the fiddly thing is pigmented and black enough, if you get my drift. I'm not into pencil eyeliners except on the lower waterline, but apart from that, I am not fussy about liquid or gel eyeliners. In fact, I can even put up with wonkiness or gloopiness or thickness. Who is going to examine my eyeliner that closely?
Very few people like the Bourjois Erasable Eyeliner, whereas I do - reviewed here - and have used it in quite a few eye looks I have done. I draw the line (pun intended) at an eyeliner flaking and spreading all over the place of its own free will. But apart from those, anything from an eyeliners goes with me.  I'll take anything, although I reiterate that I do not like pencil eyeliners.

Here is my review and swatches of the Benefit They're Real Push-Up Eyeliner.
