China Glaze Whirled Away glitter over Essie Mink Muffs taupe nail polish

China Glaze's Whirled Away is a glitter nail polish that contains large white hex glitter and smaller black hex and bar glitter in a clear base. It was part of China Glaze's Cirque du Soleil Collection released last December. I've used it over two coats of Essie Mink Muffs nail polish here. The above swatch is in direct sunlight.
I had been ordering Whirled Away for more than six months and it was always sold out or out of stock. It wasn't till July that I finally got my hands on that gem of a bottle. Whirled Away is a great glitter for layering, especially over creme bases. I have read several reviews which say the formula of Whirled Away is hard to work with - but I find the reverse to be true.

Without any fishing or mucking around, I managed to get enough glitter on the brush, including the white hex particles - two, in a couple of instances. This is just the one coat each of Whirled Away, with no top coat. But Whirled Away is a thick polish and the clear base needs to be evened out. Here's a swatch with flash, above, and in natural light, below.

With Fall here, it's time to get out the taupe polishes, so I picked out Essie Mink Muffs as the base colour. I had received this polish in my September SAHSHE box (see post here). Being a dusty-mushroom taupe, it looks like a lighter version of O.P.I. You Don't Know Jacques (swatched here). I have taken photos of the swatches of Essie Mink Muffs in natural light and in direct sunlight .

This is my entry to the "Random or colour not included" round of the Falling Through The Rainbow Nail Art Challenge, which brings this challenge series to a close. In good time, too - two of my nails broke a bit and have peeled this morning, after mucking around in antique shops.
