Memebox Superfood beauty box review, unboxing

Memebox Special 20 Superfood beauty box review, unboxing
Who knew broccoli could be so much fun? When I ordered the Superfood beauty box from Memebox, I expected strawberries, tomatoes, eggs, blueberries and so on to be among the ingredients of the products included. Not broccoli.
This box promised to contain superfood-infused skincare products that would do for the skin what these antioxidant superfoods do for the body. I expected anti-ageing, since that is what antioxidants are all about. Not that I quite need it, but hey, I am perfectly willing to prevent the wrinkles from turning up for as long as I can. I had my fingers crossed for a face pack and an eye cream. Maybe something with eggs for the hair.

Here is my review and unboxing of the Memebox Special 20 Superfood beauty box.

The contents of the Superfood Special 20 Memebox are:

  1. LadyKin Phytopian Broccoli Wrinkle Radiance Ampoule 50ml
  2. LadyKin Elmaju Broccoli Essence Toner 150ml
  3. Secret Nature From Jeju Peeling Gel 150ml
  4. The Skin House Aloe Soothing Vitamin Gel 50ml
  5. eChoice Red Ginseng Eye Wrinkle Solution Treatment 30ml
  6. Pure Smile Strawberry Milk Essence Mask

Six full-sized products here, for $23. A quick look at each.

LadyKin Phytopian Broccoli Wrinkle Radiance Ampoule 50ml

This is one of two products in this box that I am super-excited about. This contains broccoli extract, which is supposed to detoxify the surface layer of the skin, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. I will take wrinkle-prevention, for now. I have never tried broccoli-based skincare products before, so I can hardly wait!

LadyKin Elmaju Broccoli Essence Toner 150ml

I wish this were a face cream or something - anything but a toner. I simply cannot use toners, no matter whether they are called essence or if they function as moisturisers, primers, soothers, softeners or whatnot, because of my derm's instructions following a bad allergy. This goes into the swap or sale box, which will be sorted out once I have a moment to spare.

Secret Nature From Jeju Peeling Gel 150ml

It never rains, but pours. A month ago, I had not even one peeling gel. Now I have three full-sized peeling gels. Enough for now, I think. I will need to make a dent in these before I get more. This contains organic, pesticide-free cellulose components from Jeju Island and volcanic clay. I am not sure where the superfood part comes in, though.

The Skin House Aloe Soothing Vitamin Gel 50ml

This is where you find the tomatoes in this box. It also has aloe vera extracts and six vitamins. This gel is supposed to work for dry or damaged skin and will soothe and protect it. I have the oiliest skin ever, so this goes to my Mum, who has far drier skin, lucky woman.

eChoice Red Ginseng Eye Wrinkle Solution Treatment 30ml

This is the second product in this box about which I am super-excited. A ginseng-based eye cream! As a matter of fact, this contains 33% pure red ginseng. It will work on fine lines and wrinkles and firms up the skin. I would rather it worked on dark circles, but you never know - maybe it will! Keeping my fingers crossed.

Pure Smile Strawberry Milk Essence Mask

I am finding the inclusion of these Pure Smile sheet masks a little monotonous. I have what, four, now.  They were in the milk box, the cacao box and a couple of others as well. Could we get another brand next time, please?

Summary and deals

I am going to love trying out the broccoli ampoule and the ginseng eye cream. The peeling gel and sheet mask will also be used, though the vitamin cream goes to Mum and the toner goes out of my stash. Having said that, I do wish there were more "Superfoods" in there. Blueberries. Eggs. Beetroot. Brussels sprouts. Almonds. Even a sardine pack which would reek, haha. I should have liked to see more variety in terms of the superfoods, as the theme seemed to promise.
This box is sold out now, but the newest boxes are here, with Superboxes here and Value Sets here. I got myself the Blackheads No More box and the gel-special box yesterday. Now to await the boxes that September will bring!
