ROSE SECRET BOX: KOREAN MYSTERY BEAUTY BOX UNBOXING

I've got over men alright, but there's one thing I haven't ever got over - the Memebox. Remember it, anyone? Korean beauty box that shipped worldwide? Best beauty box EVER? Came JAM-PACKED with beauty products, all full-sized, and in myriad themes and variants, from Superfood, Wine and Cheese, and Chocolate, to weird ingredients, colour- and scent-themed boxes, and regular monthly boxes. New here, and don't believe a WORD I say? Go here rightaway to check out ALL my Memebox unboxings. I bought more than 50 (60?) of the things in a span of about a year and a half.
The problem is that Memebox RUINED all other beauty boxes for me. I am no longer satisfied with half-baked samples. Don't give me random scrubs. Or pencil liners. Or old shite that won't sell, and you want to shill. Or anything that's not thoughtfully curated, but is haphazardly thrown in a box.
Rose Rose Shop, a Korean beauty retailer who ships worldwide, used to do sampler boxes. But the samples were small, and you also got things like fashion earrings, which I did not want. I did buy the one sampler - see here for my unboxing. Then, they stopped those.
Recently, RRS has been doing Mystery Boxes! This is their second season of doing these - I missed out on the first box. They promise at LEAST seven full-sized products, WITHOUT counting sheet masks. That was a deal-clencher for me. For $35, including FREE worldwide shipping, that's just about $5 per product! Plus, you also get samples and other things.
I ordered mine immediately, and was pleased to find that I got EIGHT full-sized products, including three makeup. In addition to those, I also got a bunch of samples, and four sheet masks. To know exactly what I received, go straight down!

Glam Guru Israel Beauty Box for Holiday 2015 Review

Last month, I told you I was awaiting the latest Glam Guru Beauty Box, released for the Jewish New Year - here it is!
For latecomers, Glam Guru is a seasonal Israeli beauty box I first discovered back in 2013, when this blog was at a nascent stage. They ship worldwide tracked from Israel. They release customisable boxes packed with goodies. You can check out all my Glam Guru unboxings here. Incidentally, it is the only beauty box from which I have repurchased products immediately.
The good thing about getting beauty boxes from around the world is that you stand to discover local goodies from several regions. And, believe me, there are some beauty treasures in Israel that my skin just loves.
The new Glam Guru boxes are customised according to your beauty profile. The box design is beautiful; bridal, even - look!

Memebox Coffee Break With Dani unboxing

Memebox Coffee Break With Dani collab box 3 review, unboxing, codes
Ever bought a kit or beauty box or giant set for one product alone? Yep, that's me.
I discovered the Miguhara B.P. Cream in the N@ked 3 Memebox I purchased - you can see the review here. I fell in love with it at first use. You know I love trying out new primers and, believe me, it is a fabulous primer. Using it, I can actually get away without a foundation, for an hour or two, which means I do not have to slap on the war paint each time I hit the local stores or run quick errands.
I had received two tiny sample tubes in the box and I was reluctant to use them both up. I looked for a full size and found it cost $45 or above, depending on shipping. That was an insane price and I did not want to take the plunge.
I saw the full-sized Miguhara B.P Cream in the third Collaboration Memebox, Coffee Break with Dani, and bought the box on the spot - for $23, I was getting the full-sized primer as well as a few other goodies - nice deal, innit?

Read on for my review and unboxing of the Coffee Break With Dani collaboration Memebox.

Earth and Sea Memebox review, unboxing

Memebox 31 Earth and Sea beauty box review, unboxing, codes
Sometimes, you buy a beauty box just because you have a few codes and points at hand. If it turns out to be a good box, then score! I had no intention of getting the Earth and Sea box, but they had given out "good luck" points last month, and I had an August code left unused, which is why I bought the box.
Memebox said the box would contain charcoal, volcanic ash, sea mineral- and clay-based products, which would control sebum and clean pores. Having what is possibly the most oily face in the history of the world - I kid you not - I decided to give the box a try with my remaining code and points.

Read on for my review and unboxing of Memebox 31 Earth and Sea Cosmetics box.

Memebox Global Edition 14 beauty box review

Memebox Global Edition 14 beauty box review, unboxing, codes
I always preferred the Global Edition Memeboxes over other boxes until about box 12. After that, themed boxes such as Cacao, Milk, Hand and Nail Care and Foot Care boxes were so good, while the Global Edition boxes included products such as depilatory creams, tampons and smaller-sized skincare. This put me in two minds whether to buy the Global Edition bundles 17-19 or not. Then, temptation took over and I got them all.
For just $23, the Global Edition boxes contain a mix of products, more skincare than makeup. If you get the bundles, you save on postage and they used to even give points back, but now there seem to be very few Memepoints forthcoming.

Here is my review and unboxing of Memebox Global Edition 14.

Memebox Superfood beauty box review, unboxing

Memebox Special 20 Superfood beauty box review, unboxing
Who knew broccoli could be so much fun? When I ordered the Superfood beauty box from Memebox, I expected strawberries, tomatoes, eggs, blueberries and so on to be among the ingredients of the products included. Not broccoli.
This box promised to contain superfood-infused skincare products that would do for the skin what these antioxidant superfoods do for the body. I expected anti-ageing, since that is what antioxidants are all about. Not that I quite need it, but hey, I am perfectly willing to prevent the wrinkles from turning up for as long as I can. I had my fingers crossed for a face pack and an eye cream. Maybe something with eggs for the hair.

Here is my review and unboxing of the Memebox Special 20 Superfood beauty box.

Hand and Nail Care Memebox review, unboxing

Memebox Hand and Nail Care special review, unboxing
Of  late, I have been suffering from broken and peeling nails, hangnails and cuticle issues. I began taking biotin from August 1, but need to address the existing concerns asap so I can get back to nail polish.
The Memebox Hand and Nail Care Special 26 beauty box was of interest to me for this very reason. I expected it would have hand creams, a hand mask or two, nail masks, and cuticle and nail treatment products, rather than nail polish, as the word "care" was mentioned. I did not want nail polish. First of all, I rarely venture beyond my favourite polish brands. Secondly, with my nails suffering from the vagaries of the weather, air travel and an appalling schedule, I have not been wearing nail polish for a while now. This box sounded like a godsend to my battered nails.

Here is my review and unboxing of the Memebox Special 26 Hand and Nail Care box.

Ipsy Glam Bag August 2014 review, unboxing

What on earth am I doing with an Ipsy Glam Bag, you wonder? I did my third-ever beauty box swap recently and, in view of all the recent and prospective hauls I have done or will do in the near future, I decided to request US-only beauty boxes this time, rather than any particular products. Incidentally, I have a swap with Italy coming up in a month or so and hope I can sample their beauty boxes! This swap itself included Ipsy, Birchbox and so on, and I will do a separate post on everything I got. But I want to show you the Ipsy Glam Bag for August 2014 before the end of the month.
The August 2014 Ipsy bag is themed "Beauty Schooled", and is a back-to-school bag. The bag itself is white with orange polka dots and can be used as a pencil case, rather than anything else, which is in keeping with the theme.

Here are the contents of the Ipsy Glam Bag for August 2014.

Wish Trend Cleansing Box review, unboxing

Wish Trend Cleansing Box review, unboxing, photos
You have seen the Memebox Special 19 Cleansing Kit yesterday here. I thought it might be a good idea to compare it with another cleansing box, also Korean, from a beauty box company I first told you about last year.
I had shown you the Wish Box 14 here and Wish Box 15 here from Wishtrend. This is Wish Box 24, All About Cleansing. This box is based on the maxim that it is more important to wash your face clean than to wear makeup. I agree. A breakout follows EVERY time I go to bed without removing all my makeup fully.
Unlike other beauty boxes, Wish Boxes come only in the external mailing box, and are released sporadically and not regularly or monthly. All boxes are pre-unboxed so you can go through the products in detail before you decide to buy, and there is no danger of nasty surprises.

Here is my review of the All About Cleansing Wish Box from Wishtrend, a Korean beauty retailer that ships worldwide.

Memebox Cleansing Kit review, unboxing

Memebox Special 19 Cleansing Kit review, unboxing
Thanks to an acne problem which began in my adulthood, I have become very diligent about cleansing. You may have seen my cleansing stash and routine here. So when I heard Memebox had a new Cleansing Kit out, which included the six-step Korean skin cleansing routine, I bought it, of course! I had heard of the 10-step Korean skin care system, but not the six-step cleansing system, and was curious to try it out.
I expected products such as a makeup remover, a cleansing oil, a foam cleanser, an exfoliating scrub, a pore brush, wash cloth and a peeling gel in this box. Maybe a body or hair wash as well, since other themed boxes such as the Scrub box have promised products for the hair and body. Read on to see if my expectations were justified.

Here is my review and unboxing of the Memebox Special 19 Cleansing Kit.

Memebox Colour, Scent Bundles review, unboxing

Memebox Colour and Scent Bundles 1 review, unboxing
We have finally come to the end of the Memebox Unboxing Week here. I no longer have a backlog of boxes from a month ago, and only have whatever shipped after August 12 to show you.
The Colour and Scent bundle unboxing posts are long overdue. Unfortunately, matters were delayed after I faced a few problems and was trying to get them resolved by Memebox.
These bundles are basically groups of three boxes, themed by scent or colour. Individually, each box costs $15, but if you buy two, you get the third gratis. So you pay $30 for three boxes, or $10 for a box. The Colour bundle includes Red, Blue and Orange boxes while the Scent bundle 1 includes Rose, Baby Powder and Grapefruit. A second Scent bundle featuring c, c, and c has been released by Memebox.
The problems were two-fold, in my case. First of all, I never received the Baby Powder box. After almost six weeks of constant emailing, tweeting, Facebook comments and messaging and Instagram comments, I concluded that I was never going to receive the Baby Powder box. Memebox gave me some Memepoints. But wait. The Blue colour box turned up with a broken lipstick. Cue three points. Details follow in the post.

Here is my review and unboxing of the Red, Blue and Orange Colour Bundle and Scent Bundle 1 - Rose and Grapefruit - boxes from Memebox.

10 Minute Memebox review, unboxing

Memebox 10 Minute beauty box review, unboxing
The 10 Minute Box is my Gran's favourite Memebox. Because she got three products. In fairness, I bought it because I had a tonne of points to use up and because the USP of the box did appeal.
A 10 Minute box was supposed to contain products that would get you all polished up in a mere 10 minutes before you were out of the door for a romantic night out. Sounds fabulous, innit? I take 20 minutes to get ready, post-shower, including a spot of serum or moisturiser, primer, eyeshadow, foundation, hair, lips, dressing up and everything else. Less, if I skip the second coat of mascara. But I will tell you about my everyday routine another time.

Here is the unboxing and review of the 10 Minute beauty box from Memebox.

Vitamin Care Memebox review, unboxing

Memebox Special 12 Vitamin Care beauty box review, unboxing
You have to give it to the way Memebox comes out with themes for boxes. Milk. Whole Grain. Oriental Medicine. Gangnam Style. Pore Care. Tea and Coffee. And, proudly unboxed today, Vitamin Care.
I guessed there would be citrus and vitamin C products in there. Excellent for the skin, of course.
Memebox says the products in this box are vitamin-enriched and will revitalise, brighten and hydrate the skin and body, boost collagen production and diminish fine lines while preserving a youthful look. The products contain vitamins A, C, D and E. Sounds amazing, innit? Now you know why I HAD to buy it. The Vitamin Care box is available here, and you get three Memepoints for buying it!

Here is my review and unboxing of the Memebox Special 12 Vitamin Care beauty box.

Office Essentials Memebox review, unboxing

Memebox Office Essentials beauty box review, unboxing
The Office Essentials beauty box from Memebox is intended to provide every beauty product you need during a work-day for touch-ups and to dramatise, if required. I figured it would be a handy way of getting in necessities and emergency supplies without turning the desk into a vanity! I expected oil blotting tissues, a compact for touching up - wrong shade expected - a lipstick for touching up, hand cream, lip balm, a hair spray or serum to tame frizz, a face mist, wet tissues, a hand wash, a roll-on or spray perfume and a face wash. Maybe, a BB cream as well. As a matter of fact, the tampons from Global Edition 13 would not have looked out of place in this box! Let's see if I was right.

Here is my review and unboxing of the Office Essentials Memebox.

Memebox Summer Care review, unboxing

Memebox Summer Care Superbox #23 review, unboxing
Well, we are about halfway through Memebox Unboxing Week on this blog.
It was a masterstroke on the part of Memebox to come out with a Summer Care Special beauty box in the summer. It sold out very quickly, was restocked, and sold out a second time. It is a known fact that Korean sunscreens contain strong SPF and that the people there tend to avoid sun damage almost completely.
Being a Summer-themed box, I expected sunscreen, of course, and detan packs, a soothing sheet mask, maybe some kind of treatment for burns, a sun-protection spray for the hair, and so on. Halfway down, they changed the name of the box from Summer Care Superbox to Summer Meeting Superbox. Read on for more.

Here is my review and unboxing of the Memebox Summer Care Superbox 23.

Memebox Gangnam Style box review, unboxing

Memebox Gangnam Style beauty box review, unboxing
Everybody, sing with me:

Op... opp...oppa GANGNAM style!

I was so on the fence about this beauty box and finally caved, as expected, because I had some Memepoints to use up. And, no regrets, except about one product!
Now before you have horrible visions of me ending up looking like PSY after using up this box, wait - the Gangnam Style box is supposed to include things that let you have "baby-faced beauty". Bright lips, large eyes and thick eyebrows, really, apart from smooth skin, the blurb said. I expected an eyeliner, a brow-filler, some kind of BB cream and blush and a lip tint rightaway. I also expected a couple more PSY masks. Let us see if I guessed right. By the way, we are celebrating Memebox Week here on this blog, just to clear away the backlog of unboxings.

Here is my review and unboxing of the Gangnam Style beauty box from Memebox.
