To mark the fashion weeks in September, beauty retailer Space.NK. Apothecary has released two special gifts with purchase options, available online today.
The September Beauty Edits come in two versions - a luxury version, with 17 products and a Whistles clutch bag, worth £200; and a deluxe version, with 22 products, and the Whistles clutch bag, worth £450. Both also contain a Whistles gift card for £20. The GWPs are available both online and in-store, until stocks last.
Both these September Beauty Edits ship worldwide tracked (as do most products on Space.NK, with the exceptions of aerosol sprays and nail polishes) from Space.NK UK - the GWPs from Space.NK US do not ship worldwide, and the contents of the US Autumn Beauty Edit are different. To mark the end of my shopping ban, I've ordered the deluxe version - watch out for my post in a week or so.

When I was growing up, we used to get chocolate advent calendars from all over the world for Christmas, courtesy of Dad and Gramps - both worked in shipping, so ship captains would hand out branded Advent Calendars as corporate gifts. I remember getting sweets from Sweden, the Netherlands, France, Italy and so on.
When I discovered the world of beauty advent calendars, the beauty box junkie in me took to the idea at once - a large "beauty box" with 12-25 products, to be opened each day until Christmas? Sign me up!
Somehow, British advent calendars seem to be the best. Check out the You Beauty, Makeup Revolution, Salon Services, M&S, Liberty, and Jo Malone Advent Calendars - you will drool all day. Sadly, none of them ships outside of the UK. House of Fraser had one for 20 quid but it had sold out by the time I opened the email. I wish Sephora - all branches across the world - would release their own advent calendars. I would spring for the ME one!

I recently shopped from from Beauty.com and received a gift card, so there was an excuse to make a second haul! My haul post is coming up within a week or so - the fact is that I am receiving an early Christmas present in the form of a new camera, and have pretty much stopped taking photographs until then  - but meanwhile, you can take a look at an amazing GWP I received from Beauty.com.
The gifts at Beauty.com are not the odd perfume vial and foil sachet. Each GWP is a designer bag, exclusively from a recent collection, and the bag contains travel, deluxe and full-sized samples from top brands sold on Beauty.com. Whether you want to shop right before Christmas, or on the Boxing Day Sales across the British Commonwealth, shopping during the Holiday Season is guaranteed to get you black eyes, bruised skin, half-pulled hair and a titchy temper. Last year, I was in travelling in the Persian Gulf during Boxing Day, and Zara, H&M, Topshop and Debenhams were nightmares. There was some dress Kate Middleton had worn once and the fight over the last piece was epic. I ended up buying nothing. Which is why online shopping is an easier choice.

With all due respect to every department store around the world and every Sephora outlet there is, the fact is that Beauty.com has amazing gifts with purchases. Where are you going to get a gorgeous designer collaboration bag with some 15 deluxe samples? Sephora Dubai has a very generous card programme, as you can see here and here, but you need to watch out for the offers to turn up, and only Black Card (equivalent to Sephora USA's VIB) or Gold Card (VIB Rouge) owners are eligible for the best gifts. On the other hand, anyone buying from Beauty.com can avail of the generous GWPs they have.
These are not random vinyl pouches with a dozen sachets. I am talking about designer bags exclusively made for Beauty.com, by Richard Chai, Cynthia Rowley, Lela Rose, EDUN, Tess Giberson and others. One of my favourite online retailers, Feelunique.com is a UK-based website that sells mostly UK- and Europe-based brands, but also other brands from across the world, and they ship worldwide for free if your order is above £10. Best of all, they often have 3-for-2 offers, like in Boots or Superdrug. Their GWPs and special offers are amazing.
Recently, they released an exclusive Beauty Bag as a Holiday offer, packed with 14 deluxe-sized high-end skincare, hair care and makeup products, hand-picked by their beauty director, Newby Hands. They promised that there would be no sachets. The first lot of bags went out complimentary with purchase of products for £100. I picked up half a dozen Rimmel Provocalips lip colours, reviewed here, and a couple of gift sets to use as stocking stuffers, to qualify for the bag. Was it worth it?

Call them gifts with purchase, freebies, samples, or whatever you like; we all love receiving beauty goodies!
Remember my December haul from Sephora Middle East? I had signed up for their card programme and received a few samples/gifts with purchase back then. I had also said that the US outlets had been more generous sample-wise, when I visited about three years ago, with a dozen or so foundation, skin care and perfume samples from Seattle and D.C. outlets. I have changed my mind! I have been to at least a dozen Sephoras on three continents now. The Sephora outlets in Spain and Portugal and the ones in Singapore and Malaysia palmed me off with perfume vials or a couple of 2ml tubes and sachets.
Sephora Middle East has several outlets across eight countries (there are eight Sephora outlets in the UAE alone). The haul posts can wait. Here is a quick look at my samples and GWPs from Sephora Middle East.

It was my birthday yesterday so I took the day off for a bit of much-needed "me-time". I had ended my shopping ban in the last week of March to pick up some treats for myself. The beauty goodies are mostly skin care and a powder compact - I only use pressed powder foundation, which itself gives me a dewy look soon enough, given how oily my face is. If I dared to use liquid or cream foundation, my face would be swimming in oil, even if I set it with powder. Besides, pressed powder applied with the Beautyblender Pro lasts longest on my skin, keeps me matte for longer and saves time on "setting".
Enough about the glories of pressed powder foundation; here are a few things I hauled, and a few prezzies I received.
