Zoya Crystal blue nail polish swatches, photos, review

Zoya Crystal blue nail polish swatches, review, photos
So I've done my nails after two whole months. Why would a nail polish fan (got into polish years before makeup) avoid polish for eight weeks? Just take a look at my index, middle and ring fingers, even beneath all that nail polish, and you will know why. Since I was feeling blue over the breakage and peeling, I decided to go in for Zoya Crystal as my comeback polish. It is an older polish, but one of my favourites.

Here are swatches of Zoya Crystal nail polish in natural light and direct sunlight, and the story of my nail break.

Bamboo nail art with Zoya Shawn green polish and China Glaze Devotion

Bamboo nail art with Zoya Shawn polish and China Glaze Devotion stamping
The phrase bamboo manicure is actually used to describe a form of torture where bamboo bits are pushed beneath the victims' fingernails (ouch). That is not what I've done here, so I'm avoiding the phrase. Here is a bamboo leaf nail art design with Zoya Shawn green nail polish - stamped with China Glaze Devotion. It has fewer stalks; I'll explain that in a minute.
Zoya Shawn is a green nail polish that doesn't make me sick each time I look at my nails - unlike many other greens. I'm afraid I forgot to photograph the polish swatched by itself. It is mossy; it is olive; it is deep; it doesn't scream green and it is my favourite finish - creme. What's not to like? Shawn makes me think of the rainforests, of the Amazon, the Congo and Borneo. Of leaves wet with rain. Enough blarney.

Hallowe'en mani 5: Pumpkin patch in the sky and on the nails

Pumpkin nail art for Hallowe'en manicure with OPI Chop sticking to my story and Zoya Jo for Halloween nail art challenge
I wanted to do something like the Great Pumpkin Patch In The Sky for my final Hallowe'en manicure (Free For All) of 2013. But I wanted a brighter contrast to the orange of the pumpkins, so I picked Zoya Jo polish for the blue. I have done a recent mani with Zoya Jo - you can view it here.

Hallowe'en manicure 1: Blood "drip" nail art

Blood drip manicure for Hallowe'en nail art challenge with Zoya Avril
I've never tried drip nail art before, and figured a Hallowe'en manicure challenge would be a good time to give them a shot - especially if I could get red polish to drip down! The base obviously had to be light, so I picked Zoya Avril.

Manicure: Zoya Jo nail polish with black stamping nail art

Swatch and review of Zoya Jo nail polish
Blue is my all-time favourite polish colour, though I'm new to Zoya polishes (six out of 201 polishes are Zoya). This is Zoya Jo, a cool-medium, delicate, periwinkle blue. Great formula and opacity (two coats). I don't know if you can spot the shimmer there.
