Sonia Kashuk Ombre Obsessed LE Makeup Brush Set for Fall 2015

I have an early Holiday haul to show you, but before I sit down to take photos of everything together, take a gander at the Sonia Kashuk Ombre Brushes - one of three sets from the brand for Fall 2015. Stunners, aren't they? Ombre brushes in Fall colours. What's not to love?

Scroll down for the lowdown on the Sonia Kashuk Ombre Obsessed LE Makeup Brush Set for Fall 2015.

The Ombre Obsessed Makeup Brush Set consists of seven brushes:
  1. Dual-fibre multipurpose brush
  2. Dense blending brush
  3. Pointed concealer brush
  4. Eyeshadow brush
  5. Blending brush
  6. Pointed smudge brush
  7. Smudge/Eyeliner brush

I had expected the dual-fibre multipurpose brush to be a stippling brush, but I find it works best to blend out blushes and bronzers. The bristles crinkle up when I wash the brush, so I have to put it into a brush guard or use cellophane wrap once it dries to get it back in shape.
On the other hand, the dense blending brush is a keeper. I use it for buffing in pressed powder - usually Laura Mercier Translucent Pressed Powder. I have had no problems while washing this - or the other brushes in this set.

I love the Sephora Airbrush Pro Concealer Brush 57 for concealer, so I use the pointed concealer brush (extreme right in the photograph below) for chunky glitter-shadows, since it glides over and picks up the glitter well. However, I accidentally spilled a drop of glue and then dropped the brush right on the spot, so I am now working on getting the glue off the bristles - about two dozen bristles are firmly adhered, but the rest of the brush is fine. Tips, anyone?
The eyeshadow brush works a treat on my deep-set lids. I had worried the blending brush would be too large for my deep-set eyes, but I have no problems with it. The pointed smudge brush is good for swirling in deeper shadows in the crease for a gradient effect. Finally, there is a little smudge brush which doubles as an eyeliner brush.

Verdict

At $27.99, the Sonia Kashuk Ombre Obsessed seven-brush set is a steal. It contains the essential brushes you need for eye makeup and includes a couple of powder brushes as well. Plus, they are ombre! They will definitely look good among your brushes or on your vanity.
Downside? This is a limited edition set. I was lucky - my Dad was a-travelling and I pressured him into taking along a shopping list. If you spot a set, grab it fast even if you have brush overload - it will serve as a nifty Christmas prezzie for someone without breaking the bank. Online, it is only available here.
