Beauty Products Emptied in October 2015 + Link-Up

Have you begun your Christmas shopping yet? I worked on my lists over the weekend and finished the books-side of things. A large-print, leather-bound gilded library edition of Les Miserables for Gramps is the crowning glory. He can no longer read his tiny-print 1891 edition, so hopefully he will love this.
Eight more weeks and this year would have gone by. Now that the weather is dry, I have been using up intensive hydrating products on my skin and hair.

Here are the beauty products I used up in October 2015 and my thoughts on each.

Here are the beauty products I used up in October 2015 and my quick thoughts on each.

Hair care

Enliven Kiwi and Fig Conditioner
How heavenly did this smell! I used it for CO-washing and everyone told me my "fragrance" was great. It was light enough and had "slippage" so I did not miss the shampoo at all.
Repurchase? Some day. I am all about the variety.

Hask Argan Hair Oil Repairing Deep Conditioner
Since I have very long hair, I needed the whole of this packet, and my dry, frizzy hair just drank up the contents. I probably need a vat of this two times a week for my hair to achieve some kind of respectability.
Repurchase? Definitely will.

Face products

Insobeau Perfect Deep Clean One-Step Cleansing Water
This was from a Memebox, and I must say it did NOT do a good job removing my makeup. I got foundation stains all over my Clarisonic later, and eyeliner, mascara and lipstick on my towels.
Repurchase? Erm, why would I want to buy plain water in a bottle if I cannot even drink it?

Bourjois Flower Perfection Primer, reviewed here
Think this is my third pot of this stuff - my favourite drugstore primer, this controls the oil on my face for longer than any other drugstore product. The only gripe is that it comes in a pot rather than a tube. Nails, see?
Repurchase? Have two more pots left.

Face masks

Nuxe Masque Creme Fraiche
Big fat love. This is a gentle, moisturising mask that also leaves my battered skin clean and calm.
Repurchase? Done! Two tubes!

Juara Turmeric Antioxidant Radiance Mask
Turmeric and I usually do not get along. It stings upon application and irritates my pores, leaving my face red.
Repurchase? Nah.

Sisley Radiance Glow Express Mask
In July, a group of "people" accosted me at the Termini metro station in Rome and pulled at my handbag strap, asking for "help". I let out a squeak and rushed into the nearby Sisley store, where the intelligent staff took in the situation and chased them away. And, they were having a sale, so I bought a dress to calm down and scored some samples. Irrespective of the background story, I love this oil-absorbing, glow-imparting mask and am disappointed it is over.
Repurchase? Want to! Let's see if I can figure out a place that ships out Sisley skincare.

Face cleansers

Etude House Baking Powder Cleansing Foam
There was nothing I loved more than the sight of a thick, toothpaste-like texture foaming up so incredibly on the face, but I have since read that baking powder on acne-prone skin may not be a good idea.
Repurchase? Not until I know more about baking powder on acne.

Sisley Cleansing Milk With Sage
Very gentle on the face, this was not much good as a makeup remover, but I loved it for de-oiling in the morning, before applying makeup.
Repurchase? Depends on price.

Bath & Body

Thann Rice Extract Body Milk
While I usually love products from this Thai brand, the smell of rice water and I do not get along. Which is why I have not been able to introduce sake-based skincare into my regimen.
Repurchase? Not unless I can tolerate the smell of rice water.

Bliss Body Butter mini
Lemon and sage is Bliss's trademark fragrance, innit? This was a decent body moisturiser for dry weather; nothing special.
Repurchase? I have other body butters to use up.

Ahava Firming Body Cream
If I had to choose between Bliss and Ahava, I would go with the latter. It was more hydrating and left less residue.
Repurchase? Some day, I suppose.

Sephora Instant Moisturiser
Part of my goodie bag from Sephora Rome. I have already used up a full-sized tube of this moisturiser (gift for signing up to the Sephora ME card programme). A decent, lightweight body moisturiser.
Repurchase? No. Lots to use up.

Hands and Feet

Baylis & Harding Skin Spa Aromatherapy Foot Lotion
This was one of two foot care kits I picked up at TJ Maxx. It smelled great and did not leave grease on my sheets - the most important feature of a foot cream - and kept my feet cool at night.
Repurchase? No, although there are no complaints. Just that I have a queue of foot creams to finish first.

Perlier Honey Miel Hand Cream
Oh, how delightful was the fragrance of this hand cream! It was light enough for the night. You know some of those hand creams can be so greasy that they make nights awful until you get up and wash your hands? This one is not like that. It was absorbed very quickly and had a soothing fragrance.
Repurchase? I just picked up two L'Occitane hand creams, so not buying anything else now.
