The Charlotte Tilbury Glowgasm Face Palettes come in two variants - Lightgasm, for light to medium skins, and Lovegasm, for medium to dark skins. This post has the review and swatches of the Charlotte Tilbury Glowgasm palette in Lovegasm, and a tutorial of the palette used on textured, tan skin.
The Glowgasm palettes cost £60 each, and contain four shades - a "bronzer", a highlighter, a "multi-glow", and a "pop blush". The packaging is gorgeous, the whole thing feels and looks luxurious and heavy, and the pattern is very pretty.
Therein end the raves, for me at least. There are some real issues with this one. No, really - don't believe me? I have a proper demo of this thing right ahead.

You know I'm all excited when Advent Calendar season is here, and all those gorgeous boxes, choc-a-bloc with goodies, start showing up.
This year, I am a bit early with my Advent Calendar posts. First, here is a list of more than 40 beauty advent calendars coming up for Holiday 2018, including release dates, prices, net worth, and spoilers. Then, I will be posting full contents and sale announcements as and when each of these goes live. Finally, I will be posting unboxings once I get my greedy paws on the advent calendars.

For some of these, I already have spoilers, but I have spoiler warnings in my video, as you will see in a bit, so you won't have to know anything you don't want to scroll down (at the same time you can get to know about all the calendars), and the surprise element will still be there for you, if you so wish.
Before all of that, a quick detour for those who are new to all this - what under the canopy am I talking about?
An Advent Calendar (a calendar that has a countdown during Advent, right up to Christmas, often with a Nativity scene, a poem, or a little surprise, behind each date).
A Beauty Advent Calendar, obviously, is a curation of beauty products arranged behind closed windows, doors, or boxes, in a "calendar" format, as a countdown to Christmas Day.
Here, I'm showing you more than 40 of the best beauty advent calendars to look forward to for Christmas 2018. There are spoilers for some of the beauty advent calendars mentioned here - I have warnings for those!
Before we get going, one more thing - the vast majority of these do ship worldwide. There COULD be some exceptions depending on the brands included, and if there are perfumes or nail polishes or other HAZMAT inside. I will specify if I know about this for sure. Again, individual country exceptions could apply even if I'm told that they ship worldwide.

Charlotte Tilbury's Advent Calendar for Holiday 2017 is here, and it is themed the "Naughty and Nice Magic Box." The 2016 calendar from Charlotte Tilbury looked like this. And, here's my review of the 2015 Charlotte Tilbury Book of Makeup Magic Advent Calendar.
The 2017 Advent Calendar costs £150 - like the two previous editions - and contains 12 products. But are the contents truly different? Or is this calendar not worth it? Read on.

This year, there are so many new names jumping on the Beauty Advent Calendar bandwagon, right from luxury store Harrods, to drugstore favourite Soap & Glory. Which hopefully means that the brands which previously had Beauty Advent Calendars would have to up the ante and make their calendars better than ever before, right?
LookFantastic has certainly done that this year, as also FeelUnique and ASOS. This ensures that you are coming back for next year's box!
Given that there are now more than 50 different Beauty Advent Calendars out there, I was hard-pressed to narrow it down to 15. So this - calendars which have improved with each year - became a criterion, and I've also included some of the new names, based on the contents.

Last week, I did a bold-for-me makeup look with Coloured Raine Cosmetics' Queen of Hearts eyeshadow palette, and Matte Lip Paint in 24 Seven. The latter is a light red lipstick, and I used the red eyeshadows in the palette, to come up with a very 1940s look, combined with my shorter hair - I look rather like an Auxiliary Territorial Service Member from WWII.

Did you have a good Christmas? I had the time of my life, and came away with better loot than I have had in a while. Swag included a Coloured Raine eyeshadow palette, a 40x jeweller's loupe, new trainers, books, a new jacket, and more. But all that is for another time; I'm too lazy to take photographs today.
Now that the year is almost done, I thought I would talk about my favourites - this year has clearly been all about liquid lipsticks, with brands coming out with new, non-drying formulations. I hope the trend continues well into 2017!

When I was growing up, my Dad and Gramps, both of whom worked in shipping, used to bring home chocolate Advent Calendars, with enough sweets to last until March. As an adult, I am addicted to Beauty Advent Calendars. See the best selections from last year here.
Beauty Advent Calendars seem to be more of a UK-centric thing, though brands in the US and elsewhere are fast catching on. In October, my skincare routine has been more regular and diligent than it was in September. I have been going through a multi-step routine for the face every morning and evening, including double cleansing on most evenings, and have moisturised all over twice daily. I had shown you the Charlotte Tilbury Book Of Magic Beauty Advent Calendar for Holiday 2015 here.
Charlotte Tilbury has an Advent Calendar out this year as well. And, it is called "World Of Legendary Parties". It contains 12 Charlotte Tilbury products, of which half are makeup and five are skincare, with one makeup remover, and costs £150. I suppose you can open one product on every other day from December 1, or one each day from December 12. Or you can keep it for Twelvetide (after Christmas).
The good news is, like last year, the Charlotte Tilbury World Of Legendary Parties Beauty Advent Calendar ships worldwide.

How could I completely forget to review one of my favourite foundations of 2015 (see full list here)? Because I haven't worn makeup much in 2016 - I went out "full-face" for the first time just last week.
Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation is heavy-duty. Opaque. Matte. JUST what my skin needs right now. I rate it right next to Cover FX Custom Cover Drops, reviewed here. The formulae are even similar in terms of coverage.

YES! My derm said I could wear makeup. Possibly because she was tired of my woebegone expression. You have no idea how thrilled I am; I have been in exile since December. Antibiotics end on March 3 (subject to review) and my topical regimen is also expected to continue till then. And there is visible improvement - mostly hyperpigmentation left, with 3-4 active spots.
I picked a foundation with full coverage for my first "outing" of 2016. Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation was among my favourite foundations of 2015 - see list here. I'll swatch and review it soon. The rest of my look was basic and quick - nothing fancy.

I am yet to come across a Charlotte Tilbury product I dislike. I am SO obsessed with her products that I just want everything in multiples, thank you! I was thrilled to find a couple of Nocturnal Cat Eyes To Hypnotise products in my Charlotte Tilbury Advent Calendar 2015, reviewed here. The Nocturnal Cat Eyes To Hypnotise sets contain an eyeshadow and a complementing eyeliner - all you need for a complete eye makeup look. I received the eyeshadow in the shade On The Prowl, and Rock 'N' Kohl Iconic Liquid Eye Pencil in Supernova.
Since these came in the Advent Calendar, I did not get the external box that comes with the Nocturnal Cat Eyes set.

Advent is here and you will be seeing three Advent Calendars in a row - this is the second. No more need to keep away from opening them.
DHL did not deliver my Selfridges Beauty Workshop Advent Calendar - now out of stock - after I waited for ages. I got a full refund and a voucher for my patience, and, a few choice words later, the SO took the hint and we got the Charlotte Tilbury Advent Calendar instead.
With 12 products - of which half are makeup and half are skincare, this is more of a Twelvetide Calendar. But I really do not see myself waiting to open each box from December 25-January 5. Blimey, I could not even wait until Advent itself!

Last weekend, Beautylish had a gift card event - if you shopped for $100, you would get a $20 gift card, which only expires in December 2016. I love shopping at Beautylish because of excellent customer care including handwritten thank-you notes, four- (five at the most) day international delivery with Fedex, and free international shipping above $100. This is not quite a haul; I only bought four brushes without really thinking.
I was somewhat makeupped-out after hauling Advent Calendars and Holiday gift sets wily-nily, so I did not really have a must-buy list. Hemmed and hawed my way through their inventory for a while, and finally decided that I would buy some blending brushes from brands I had not tried before, just to reach $100 and get the gift card. Had I only known I would fall in love....

When I was growing up, we used to get chocolate advent calendars from all over the world for Christmas, courtesy of Dad and Gramps - both worked in shipping, so ship captains would hand out branded Advent Calendars as corporate gifts. I remember getting sweets from Sweden, the Netherlands, France, Italy and so on.
When I discovered the world of beauty advent calendars, the beauty box junkie in me took to the idea at once - a large "beauty box" with 12-25 products, to be opened each day until Christmas? Sign me up!
Somehow, British advent calendars seem to be the best. Check out the You Beauty, Makeup Revolution, Salon Services, M&S, Liberty, and Jo Malone Advent Calendars - you will drool all day. Sadly, none of them ships outside of the UK. House of Fraser had one for 20 quid but it had sold out by the time I opened the email. I wish Sephora - all branches across the world - would release their own advent calendars. I would spring for the ME one!

Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipsticks have made waves recently. Having tried the K.I.S.S.I.N.G. Lipstick, reviewed here, I wanted to try more of her products, especially the lipsticks. Besides, the gorgeous packaging and the beautifully precise bullets reeled me in.
There are 10 shades in this range: Amazing Grace, Birkin Brown, Bond Girl, Glastonberry, Liberty Love, Lost Cherry, Red Carpet Red, Sexy Sienna, Very Victoria and Walk of Shame. I first bought Bond Girl and Walk of Shame and have just ordered Amazing Grace and Very Victoria as well, and Liberty Love for my Mum's birthday.
